London Taken from a building renovation in the late 1990s and possibly the only one of its ... morekind left from the area Description: Hello. This is an original antique Victorian wall sconce taken from Whitechapel, London, in the late 1990s. The item was on the ground floor of a building on New Road that was undergoing renovation from residential to commercial property(the street although once home to many in Victorian London now has many takeaways. Halal restaurants and cafes) The tenant was having a shop sign fitted to the front and when asked if the sconce could be removed from a covered side courtyard type entrance he happily agreed. The person who removed the sconce was the shop sign fitter. And fully aware of the significance of the item, kept it in his garage where it has remained since. There are no sconces left on buildings in Whitechapel- most having been damaged or thrown away- and it is very rare to find an original example of one from this area of London. Whitechapel is after all. The most notorious part of London having been the since of the Jack the Ripper murders. Although the sconce was retrieved from Whitechapel, the building's tenant did not know the history of the item such as how long it had been on the building, or when it was put there. In any case. Thankfully the sconce was rescued and persevered. It could now make an excellent collectors piece, or garden decoration for a large candle or hanging basket. Condition: The sconce has been repaired at the base part of the hinge. Look at the pictures and you will see a small patch of light metal that has been welded on to join together the two parts that had suffered a crack. The metal is pretty rusted and the oak wood mount is worn in places. It still functions and moves freely on the hinge. Shipping: All items are dispatched the next working day after payment. This is a rarer item as it ... morefeatures a double shelf to hold two oil lamps. It appears to be in original cast iron surface with no visible paint. There are two round bases or shelf's. The larger one measures approximately 5 1/2" so it will hold a 5" lamp and the smaller holder is 5" so it will hold a 4" lamp. From where it would mount against your wall to the outter edge it measures 15" It is missing the wall mount but you can find them easy replacement. You could paint this white or black to add a newer look. I personally like it the way it is gives it a antique charm. I see no damage other than the wall bracket. It is approximately 7" tall. Very nice detail in the cast iron. There is a little rust in both of the holder cups steel wool will remove it but I will leave that up to you as some prefer an old patina look. These double holders are getting very hard to find. Email me with your questions.

I have lots of vintage lighting items listed and more added all the time. This is a great lamp with a beautiful satin glass shade and the shade has no chips or cracks it will have wear and some ring roughness that they all have. The outer shade does have the original brass ring at the top which the inner shade sticks up through. This like most of these has been electrified so you can safely use it today. Some people do convert these back to oil burning and you would have to replace a few pieces to do that but not that hard you can buy the burners and parts on ebay. This has normal wear you would expect but for being from the late 1800s is fantastic and has very cool claw feet on the base. The inner clear glass sahde may not be the original I really don't know it's just clear glass so who knows the outer shade is old you can easily ... moretell its age. RARE Antique Glass Brass & Cast Iron Oil Kerosene Lamp. Wavy Blue Art Glass
Hi. Up for grabs here is a stunning oil Kerosene lamp base. This is a deep blue glass(darker than the pic shows) Brass and cast iron base. The condition is superb, the only issues are a mild bruise on the top lip of the glass on the inside of the brass ring(see pic)some surface rust on the cast iron base and some spotting on the lower brass ring. Everything else is beautiful. This is about 8 1/4 inches tall, the base is 6 1/2 inches in diameter and the glass is about 5 1/4 inches in diameter. Very beautiful piece and much potential. Antique Cranberry Glass Oil Lamp in Bradley/Hubbard Cast Iron Bracket 1881
Up for auction is a cranberry glass oil/kerosene lamp with a clear chimney. The cranberry glass has a circle pattern in it. Resembling inverted thumbprint. The lamp stands approximately 12 inches tall and fits perfectly into the Bradley and Hubbard bracket. It comes with a wall mount and a reflector. The lamp extends about 12 inches from the wall on which it is mounted. The lamp can swing from side to side. I have seen another lamp like this only once in my years of collecting, and that one was here on eBay too. Written on the bracket is Patd 1881. Antique Oil Lamp with EAPG Multi-Faceted Reservoir Cast Iron Pillar Base c1890 Posted for your consideration is this very unique oil lamp– unique because of all it has going for it: 1) Multi-Faceted(15 in all) Reservoir with a grove running around its center plus a drip or spill trough at the top– 2) a beautiful& intricate Cast Iron Base that appears to still have its original finish and is Marked No.32. Rd. 40& 1887– 3) an Eagle Burner from the Plume& Atwood Co. of Waterbury, CT(does show wear) 4) and is topped off with a pie top chimney– and I found no chips or cracks. This measures 19” tall to the top of the chimney– 12” to the top of the burner– and it measures 10” to the top of the filler neck on the reservoir. The Cast Iron Base has a footprint of 6 ¾” x 6 ¾” and measures 6” tall to the bottom of the reservoir– ... morenote, there is a brass spacer between the Cast Iron Base and the Reservoir. The Reservoir is 3 ½” tall with a 5 ½” diameter– and the Chimney is 8 ½” tall with a 2 ⅞” diameter at the base. Up for auction is this impressive oil lamp column base. With matching cast iron top and base and reeded brass column between. Standing 11 inches tall and with a base just over 6&1/2 inches square. The iron is nicely patterned with openwork base. Brown bronze finish to iron, green underneath. The large base allows for stability even with a large fount on top. The top screw socket is for a'No. 10' size english fount screw( the thread of which will measure approx 23mm OD) No damage to the threads. The base is held together by a long steel screw inside the column. This has been replaced because the original was worn/ rusted at base thread and didn't do its job any more. Antique Betsy Ross Figural Ornate Cast Iron Base Oil Lamp Metal Glass Chimney
circa 1860's 1870s oil lamp looks to be is in great shape minus the minor issues listed above. we are not sure who the bust is supose to be of and we will be glad to share when/if we find out. Looks to have been painted over the years.The font is glass in great condition. The burner has an old wick in it that does not feed up and down freely with the"THE GRAND BURNER MFG Co N.Y. on the knob. The Chimney has imperfections and characteristics that would be consistent with it being 150 or so years old and likely original to the lamp. This is an unrestored as we found it lamp. Cast iron base is original and in great condition.

Very old oil lamp. Seems to be a angel holding a round cylinder up in the air. Which is the oil lamp part. I dont no much about this oil lamp. Ive never been able to find another one like it, to compare mine to. This is the only one that is on ebay and I havent found anything on the net about it. It is in 100% original shape. This an extremely high quality large antique solid iron ornate oil lamp font stand. it is made from very thick iron. Is a very heavy piece, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. the piece is articulated together from pieces of cast iron and pieces that are hand wrought as well. This is a stunning antique cast iron.
