Unlike the simple classic lines of the alabaster lamp. The shade is slightly baroque with very ornate gold metal trim. The Lamp including the shade is 17" Tall. The Cord. Which had an on-off switch, is 52" Long. The lamp works. Although the silk part of the shade has some condition issues. The alabaster lamp is in excellent condition.

I love them mismatched. more charming. more eclectic. they are both beautiful. both the same creamy color. marbled with creams and browns. one with a metal ornate base. one solid alabaster. they are so complimentary. the metal based one measures 13 1/2" not including harp. it weighs 6 pounds. the base is 6" the solid alabaster one measures 10 3/4" tall without harp. it weighs 3 pounds. the base is 3 1/2" they are both have flea bites and discolor. the larger of the two has some chips from the carved ornate cuff. see all photos. the bigger of the two has been rewired as the cord comes out of bottom. and the hole for the old wiring is still on the backside. I didn't see this when I took photos. doesn't detract is just the original small hole for the cord. the smaller one has a piece of cardboard covering the plug. both lamps plug in and work fine but all old lamps should be checked. despite and because of their chippiness I find them romantic and sweet. I find them charming and unique. once you add knock out shades they will be your own design. aga

Hand Carved Alabaster or Soapstone Boudoir Lamps with Custom Made Shades
Pair of boudoir lamps made in mid 1950s. These were made to look like marble but were actually made of alabaster or soapstone. They measure approximately 11 inches to top of lamp. 13 ¾ inches to top of socket and 17 ½ inches to the top of the harp. The base is covered in green felt and measures about ¾ of an inch high and 3 5/8 inches square. The lamps work. There is some rust on both lamps though(see the flower and vertical groves on the right lamp in picture 3) There are also some very small abrasions(see pictures 11 and 12) o therwise the lamps are in pristine condition. The shades were custom made for these lamps: that is; a designer recommended the frame and then made suggestions for the outer and inner fabrics. When lit the effect is that of a rosy glow- more flattering to one's skin tones than candle light.

Beautiful carved alabaster lamp of nude in waterfall. The lamp is unsigned but Marked"Made in Italy" The lamp measures 16 1/2 inches(42cm) H X 7 1/4 inches(18cm) W. This item has been newly rewired for saftey concerns. I have the Age of this item listed as 1900- 1940 but I am not quite sure of the Age. My experience tells me it could be anywhwere from the 1920's to 1950's. A lovely object that displays beautifully. A warm glowing light that becomes the focal point of a room. Antique 1920's White ALABASTER & MARBLE Carved SWAN EGRET HERON Bird Table Lamp
Up for your consideration is this absolutely exquisite antique carved white Alabaster and Marble table lamp from the 1920's. This lamp depicts a long necked bird with it's wings spread- I believe the bird is either a swan. Egret or heron. Absolutely stunning detail and the white color really stands out. The lamp has two lights with individual pull switches so that you can adjust the amount of light. Measures 27.5 inches tall from the base to the finial and 9.5 inches wide without a shade(no shade included) This lamp is quite heavy because the alabaster and marble portion alone measures approx. 12.5 inches. In excellent condition. One small chip on the wing of one bird(enlarge pic#9, wing of bird on right near legs) There is a painted portion of the lamp above the alabaster that has chipped cream paint as well. Best of all the lamp ... moreworks! This lamp would go beautifully into many decorating styles- Victorian, Art Nouveau, Traditional, etc. So stunning! I fell in love with this lamp when I found it at a Buffalo. NY antique shop over 12 years ago, the owner of the shop claimed it was a 1920's lamp when I purchased it. I believe this lamp is one-of-a-kind and/or repurposed, see extra hole on base of lamp. It is difficult to date this lamp to the exact year, however, the"Arrow" company name is on the light sockets. Arrow was in business from 1904-1927. Arrow applied for patents on pull-style light sockets in 1909-1911 and 1915(see antiquesockets.com) Therefore, I believe this lamp dates circa 1920's(could be earlier) Square base is white marble. Carved portion is white alabaster. Finial has a hole that goes all the way through the top. Beautiful Hollywood Regency Italian Deeply Carved Alabaster Marble Urn Shape Table Lamp with beautiful Open Work Metal Trim. The bottom metal work between the foot and pedestal looks like twigs and the urn base has a leaf design. The top of the urn shape is deeply carved and the wide band has a row of what looks like flowers. Below that are vertical lines running down to the metal that holds the urn shape. The next area of marble is square and the bottom base is square. The lamp has the original finial. The lamp measure 32" to the top of the finial and 20" to the top of the socket. Antique Urn Style Lamp Beautiful hand carved alabaster marble lamp with gorgeous ivory. White, tan and gray coloring Lamp is in very good condition there are a few flaws- some chipping around center band piece and two chips on the top edge of the carved design. Bottom did have felt attached but was removed to repair with the new wiring and top electrical parts. There is still some of the felt res idue on bottom. I was told the l amp was from around the late 1890's or early 1900's. I purchased the lamps many years ago from a women in her 60's and the lamps belonged to her grandparents. Measurements of the lamp it self is 14 3/4" tall. With l ight bulb socket and lamp shade bracket it is 26" tall. Bottom base is 4 3/4" square. I have another matching lamp that I have not listed. It has more chips and is in worse condition ... morethen this one but they do make a great pair. Please let me know if you would be interest ed in it as well. Vintage- Antique Art Deco Carved'Alabaster/ Marble' Mantle Lamp circa 1920's- 1940's This item is from an estate and has been in storage for many years. This vintage i tem is in very good condition for its age. The lamp was tested to work as seen in the photos. The'alabaster/ marble' sculpture is clean and crack free. The base is in good condition it is however missing one of the 4 original matching feet. To make the item'even' I removed the third'odd' foot and replaced it with two I had(please see photos 11 and 12) They unfortunately are not as tall nor ornate as the originals hence the the'lean' in some of the pictures. I have packed the odd third foot as well as a set of matching new feet to ship with this lamp. Though the new feet are not as ornate. They are there to use as an option if ... moredesired. The lamp does has a'chip' it is located on the back- right hand back side. right hand side as you view from the front) may be viewed in photos# 7 and# 8 its about 3/4 distance from the base. I try my best to capture all the features and flaws of this antique lamp. Please be sure to use all the photos attached to evaluate this piece. I don't see any other noteworthy issues but I leave the final opinion with you. As such this item is sold'as is' The lamp does work fine and comes with an extra bulb as well as the hardware described above. Even with its set backs it's still a very interesting antique early to mid century item. A nice addition for a room or your collection.
