Century Purple Glass Lamp- Rare Color This listing is for a beautiful original antique early 19th century ... moreglass bell jar lantern lamp. This lantern comes with its smoke shield and is a beautiful very dark purple amethyst color(the lid is lighter in color but I do believe it is the original smoke shield for this lantern) It retains its original brass fittings and chain. The shield measures 10-3/8" across and the bell jar measures 9-5/8" high and 8-1/2" across. Condition is good. There are manufacturing flaws and irregularities in the glass(air bubbles and lines and folds in the glass on the lid. These are not cracks or damages but happened in the making) The glass has a few air bubbles that were broken through on the surface but there are no chips or cracks and no repairs. There is just the usual chipping along the opening hole in the lid where the chain comes through(that is normal for this type of lamp) One of the peacock heads has lost its little clip that folds over the bell jar edge(see pictures) but that does not compromise the stability or ability to safely hang this lamp. This lamp has not been converted for electricity and is in good original antique condition(even the glass is covered in age dirt, but I will leave the cleaning to the new owner in case they like the aged look) Please excuse any glares(white patches) that you may see in the pictures. These are caused by reflections of light on the surface and are not on the actual object itself. Please note that I am located in the Netherlands(Amsterdam. Holland) which means that this item will be shipped from Europe. Omg.this lamp is amazing! It is an antique/ vintage cinderella horse and carriage lamp that lights and plays music. It is marked original lenwile ardalt japan on bottom. Beautiful hand painted detailing. No chips or cracks. Man should be holding chain to the horses but that has come off easy fix. Small hairline ctack on bottom where you replace the lightbulb and old glue on the inside of the back wheel. Nothing noticeable. This is an outstanding lamp. CARRIAGE LEFT LAMP LIGHT-ORIGINAL ANTIQUE FROM AN ORIGINAL HORSE & BUGGY!
This antique& very old& certainly original carriage lamp light from an actual carriage that held a real fuel in it. This one was converted into an electric light. Great piece for a ranch house. Or barn house. It also has a red piece of red glass or maybe it's a gem of some kind as they used in the old watches, I'm not sure. On the back side of it where it opens, I'm doing further research on it& will post the more I find out about it. As you can see, it has one side window and one in front. This may have been a left lamp light for the carriage. Circa 1860-188 0. But please make up your own mind about this. The pullman lamp measures approx 12 inches(305mm) tall. It is made from brass throughout. It would originaly have been mounted on the dining table of a pullman railway carriage. This partucular lamp has more ornate feet than the more common type. It is in good condition with light wear consistent with its great age. But no damage. there is a small braised repair(barely noticable) to one leg(see photo 3) It is fitted with a bayonet clip type. UK bulb holder, and is unwired, and would need to be rewired by a qualified electrician before it can be used. It is I believe a 19thC TRAVELLING or TRAVELLERS RAILWAY CARRIAGE CANDLE LAMP dating to around 1870/80 I would think. In the days before electric lighting was commonplace this enabled you to continue reading whilst travelling etc. There are NO maker's marks that I can find anywhere. I have seen several different designs/styles& some are even made in solid silver. This example is made from plated nickel I think(the reflector is silver on copper) The plating is in generally good condition although there is some wear& a little corrosion on one corner. 8x2" Extended. They are 8x13" These are copper covered metal. Copper still covers bottoms but most has worn off tops and sides. There are no markings. I can't find many of these- 1 to be exact. They say they are Asian. I have seen some very similar that say they were used as carriage lamps or street lamps. Whatever. They are unusual and make a great collectible. It would appear to have only been illuminated by a candle as there is still the remains of a very greasy candle within the body. There are two bevelled oblong clear glass pieces. The front one has cracked. The silvered reflecter on the back piece has a central hole fitted with a red circular glass piece. The body from the domed top to the candle holder base is approximately 32cm tall x 11cm on each side with the glass standing out a further 7mm. I have no idea as to the maker I'm afraid but there is a stamped legend that possibly states'Under Patent' It is difficult to make it out clearly. Condition is poor. Antique Wood Brass Cast Iron Carriage Lamp foyer table desk lamp
This is a beautiful antique table lamp with a heavy cast iron base with a carved wooden post and a Carriage like bevel glass(encased) shade. This shade is a metal tin painted a matte black color. There is a couple of scuffs and nicks on paint but not bad and easy to fix. The lamp is sturdy, stands up straight, and measures about 16 1/2" tall and 6" wide at base. This lamp weighs more than 4 lbs. There are scuffs and scratches on the wood post of this lamp- only from previous use and wear from age. There are straight hairline cracks in the wood post but it looks like this is how the wood is placed together, like a wainscoting design. Not sure of type of wood- could be walnut? The carriage like looking shade has beveled clear glass panes framed in metal with brass top. None of the clear glass panes are chipped or cracked. Not sure ... moreof maker- There are numbers marked on the bottom of bare cast iron base but no maker name. This lamp seems to have an original outlet cord and plug- prongs on plug are marked Academy Automatic Made in USA~ Albeit. This lamp is probably about 50 years old or older. HELLO and thanks for looking. Here is a very old CARRIAGE style light. This is an electric light and I'm not sure if it was converted from kerosene or not. By the age of it it may well have been gas operated but I'll leave that up to you professionals to decide. Pretty sure it is copper or copper with something else. GLASS: Etched pieces. BLUE GREEN RED YELLOW. I think the slender YELLOW piece may be a replacement as it has a rough texture and all the other glass is smooth. The top is made to have an additional piece screwed on to it it appears and a very crude opening has been made in it as shows in the picture. Stands about 12 1/2" high. The top part is about 6 1/4" square and tapers down to about 5 1/2" The smaller glass pieces are surrounded by VERY ornate metalwork! I can't explain how nice this must have been ... morein its day and probably can't make the pictures show how spectacular this light is. Someone is going to have a very nice display lamp. The little door is spring loaded and works great. I cleaned it up some but there is much more cleaning needed to get into top condition. Two horses, a driver, and the carriage and lady. The piece has lots of character and patina. The top screws off, and one could put the oil inside. Wick is in the mechanism, and works well. Antique Carriage Lamp foyer table desk lamp Wood Brass Cast Iron metal ~ This is a beautiful antique table lamp with a heavy cast iron base with a carved wooden post and a Carriage like bevel glass(encased) shade. This shade is a metal tin painted a matte black color. There is a couple of scuffs and nicks on paint but not bad and easy to fix. The lamp is sturdy, stands up straight, and measures about 16 1/2" tall and 6" wide at base. This lamp weighs more than 4 lbs. There are scuffs and scratches on the wood post of this lamp- only from previous use and wear from age. There are straight hairline cracks in the wood post but it looks like this is how the wood is placed together, like a wainscoting design. Not sure of type of wood- could be walnut? The carriage like looking shade has beveled clear glass panes framed in metal with ... morebrass top. None of the clear glass panes are chipped or cracked. Not sure of maker- There are numbers marked on the bottom of bare cast iron base but no maker name. This lamp seems to have an original outlet cord and plug- prongs on plug are marked Academy Automatic Made in USA~ Albeit. This lamp is probably about 50 years old or older. It would look great in a foyer hall or side table in an office. The bulb shown has an amber tint- this bulb will be included. I may have to disassemble this lamp a little for shipping and will wrap securely with bubble wrap and include insurance. Circa 1870-188 0. But please make up your own mind about this. The pullman lamp measures approx 13 inches(330mm) tall. It is made from solid brass throughout. And would originaly have been mounted on the dining table of a pullman railway carriage. It is in very good condition with light wear consistent with its great age. But no damage or repairs. It is fitted with a bayonet clip type. UK bulb holder, and is unwired, and would need to be rewired by a qualified electrician before it can be used. This came from a barn at an estate sale. It is and antique oil/gas lamp. Probably late 1800's, converted at some point to electric. 3 of the 4 glass panels are missing, it is being sold"as is" so please look at the pictures. It is for restoration, parts or repurpose. It is approximately 22 inches tall and 10 inches across and very heavy, about 15 pounds. I just know there is someone in Ebay land waiting for this piece.
