Lamp measures 42" high. Base is 6" wide, lady is 12" tall. Has four porcelain candlestick style arms(which currently do not tighten properly and lean inward. This looks like a banquet lamp. There is also at top a place for a light bulb but the round globe is missing from it. I believe the body of the lady is spelter with possibly a bronze overlay on the robe and it is painted as well as the base. Very large unusual lamp and definitely a conversation piece. Antique French newel post lamp Heroic female figure in spelter with a brass foliate circle both with attractive bronze patinantion and two sockets with copper plated iron cups Signed A Rucho on the base and marked Made in France dating from around 1910 It is currently wired for a newel post with no cord. The figure alone is 19 in. tall and sits on a 61/2" diameter wood base marked Germany The soldier is holding a flag in each hand although one arm has broken off cleanly as shown in the pictures.I have the intact arm and both flags. Featured is a pair of gorgeous antique cherub table lamps! Very shabby chic! Each weighs 9 pounds. Stands 32 inches high, 18 inch tall by 6 inch wide metal base(less electric top) Cast in the lost cast wax metal method. By L&L Loevsky in Carlstadt NJ. This metal mold company made cast products for customers from 1930 until 1971 when they closed. These lamps have original white paint discovered in between pieces when I took them apart for shipping. The base paint is creamy white. Then hand painted gold gilt with bisque or porcelain overlay. The lamp base is a relief embossed with cherub musicians playing instruments and riding horned goats. The scene is reminiscent of italian renaissance artwork. A lso known to be the discovery of trumpets in the 1500s. The top of the base platform holds two intricate porcelain or bisque overlay cherub ... morefigurines with outstretched arms. Lamps have an immense amount of details. Extending from bottom to the top. Lamps are signed. But I can't make out signature. Stamped copy write L&L WMC. Numbered 842, 846 and 8582 on top of base. One stamp looks like 846 or possibly the date 1846. Perhaps this is a recreated older lamp with newer 1935 L&L parts. Estimated manufactured date is 1935 based on the serial numbers. And rewired in 1953 based on the parts used. Inside of lamp is copper and grey silver color. Not magnetic. These Cupid. Putti, cherub, angels are charming!

Monumental Victorian Nouveau Bronze Patinated Spelter Figural Lady Newel Lamp
Offered for your consideration is a very large newel lamp of the finest quality formed by a neoclassical art nouveau lady lifting a vessel atop her head. From which 5 vines emerge with lighted flowers at their tips. She stands on a black wooden plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter, due to the weight, but perhaps it's bronze. The lamp is monumental in size, about 50 1/2" high by 16" wide. The piece is in remarkably good condition. It looks like portions of some leaves may be missing on the vines and around the sockets at the top. The only other possible flaw I see is a line across the base of the woman's toes on her left proper foot where they join her draped robe/gown. It may have been there from the time of casting. As it shows evidence of age. The wooden base shows a line from shrinkage over time, but is still ... morecompletely stable. The patination is lovely, with only minimal signs of wear, likely the result of a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. The wiring was recently professionally updated/replaced with fine silk cord and a new plug. I do not believe that the lamp originally had coordinating shades. Per se; I suspect that regular light bulbs were used. As its purpose was to provide useful illumination. Alternatively, a variety of old and reproduction bulbs& bulb covers are available from various sources, if you do not already have them and care for that"look" If you are the winning bidder. It is made in a art nouveau/deco style(kind of) Please be sure to see the other antique items we have listed. FEATURES: This lamp is unlike anything that I have ever seen in the past. Or could find online, including eBay, Google images and a bunch of other sites. I believe the base is cast from solid bronze. It is made in a very ornate style with scrolling and leafing, and very fine details. The white satin glass globe is adorned with the most detailed hand formed( vines and leaves applied to it. They look like they have been extruded or maybe hand formed(possibly similar to how you would use a pastry gun) when the bronze was in a malleable state. I'm not sure of the actual process ... moreused to make this beautiful lamp because some of the vines feel like they are actually embedded right into the surface of the glass- and the final product is stunning. Each leaf has a very detailed design that includes a"ruffling" on each edge of the leaves. The vines and leaves have been attached to the globe by what I can only guess is a"melding" of the two materials while they were in a hot or workable stage. If anyone knows what this process is, or knows how it was made, an email would be greatly appreciated. The top section above the globe may have been cast from a different composition of materials than the base was. It is designed with a Roman or Greek style with a column look and leaves that fan out at the top. At the top of the four leaves there is a small hole where presumably a crystal hung down from there at one time. It comes with standard socket switch 2 clicks on and two clicks turns it off. I believe this lamp was re-wired with a new cord and socket sometime in the 1950's-60's. The length of the cord is a bit less than 6 feet. I am guessing this Lamp to be from the 1930's. This gorgeous Lamp has a pink shade and stands approximately 17 1/2" tall. It is approximately 11" deep from the outer edge of the arm to the far edge of the shade. This Lamp features a lovely Dancing Lady Figurine with a long. Flowing dress and a wide-brimmed Victorian hat! She has what I'm pretty certain is a delicate hand painted celluloid face and flowing blonde hair in ringlets. Her face needs a little cleaning, but I do not know what to use and do not wish to damage it. No cracks or breaks anywhere on the Lamp, but it does have a few white specks and is dusty and needs cleaning. The figurine is a little bit loose ... moreand need to be tightened on the bottom. The pink shade is also nice, but does have some scratches, light marks and needs cleaning. The bottom inner rim of the shade has roughness around the edge. Vintage spelter table lamp as shown in these actual photos. THE HUNTER" is evgaved across the front side of the lamp. Amber hobnail globe. Measures 13" tall with globe 11" long 5" deep I believe the light bulb is also vintage. I haven't ever seen one like it before. Cord& switch appear to be uniquely original. All in excellent working condition. My grandmother owned this at least since the 60's. She picked it up at an estate sale because her last name was Hunter. Sadley she passed away in 1985. The research I did on spelter vs resin vs solid bronze, and the old style plug that this is piece is spelter with a bronze painting. It is attached to a marble/stone base. The entire piece weighs approximately 14 lbs. which also leads me to believe it is spelter. There are 3 very small areas where the bronze is peeled however it's only noticeable if you know it's there and are looking for it. Other than that it is in excellent condition for the age of the piece. Although it works, the wiring should be checked as a precaution. I do not see a signature or stamp of any kind. We are listing for your consideration a lovely Antique early 20th Century French Gilt Bronze Spelter Figural Lamp with Jeweled Shade. This lamp is in Excellent Original Working Condition. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the excellent condition. The lamp measures 27 1/2" tall x 11 1/2" wide at the base. The shade alone is 9 1/2" high and the lamp and shade together weigh approximately 16lb 8oz. The lamp features 3 lovely maidens each with an outstretched hand holding what looks like a small aladdin lamp along with a wonder 3 foot clawed base. The maidens appear to be Greek, the have leaves in their hair and lovely flowing dresses with bare feet. The shade has great original glass green and amber jewels throughout with most of the green jewels having 2 small holes in each. We think this is for dispersing heat ... morefrom the bulb. The lamp takes a large bulb, the socket is porcelain. Great gold gilding to the lamp and shade. Neither the base nor the shade holds a magnet. The 3 maidens are all one piece that does move.
