Antique Embellished Brass Whale Oil Ship's Lamp 1700's-1800's
This brass whale oil ship's lamp is very ornate with lion's head embellishments and swirling lines decorating it from top to bottom. It is 9.75 inches tall and 4.75 inches from spout tip to back of lamp. It is in excellent condition. It includes 3 pieces but does not have a wick pick. It is late 1700's to early 1800's. I can only guess that it was designed for royalty b/c of the design and the decorative qualities it displays. It has numbers on the bottom but I do not think they are original to this piece. It is a beautiful piece of nautical history.

This lamp is brass with engraved or embossed design of a peasant style house and hay trailer. It is late 1700's or early 1800's. It is 7.75 inches tall and 4 inches from the end of spout to the back of lamp. It includes 3 pieces but the wick pick is missing. There is a maker's mark on the bottom. It is a candlestick with the letters"G" on left. H" underneath, S" on right side of candlestick It is in great condition although there is some soldering lead around bottom of top piece that could be original or a repair. Very rare nautical piece.

It has a lot of patina/tarnish from top to bottom. I didn't try to clean it but it should polish up very nicely if you don't want the antique look. Pickup is on the north side of Atlanta Ga. near the Mall of Georgia. I can also drop it off at FedEx or UPS if you want to set it up with them where they pack and ship it. From base to bulb. 2' tall. Gorgeous cream colored gold painted roses leaves and stems with double urn like handles and quilted embossed design on bulbous. Brass base with filigree edging. And an"L" in capital script on the plug. I wrote to Lenox and they do not have antiquities references. They suggested an appraisal. I am making an educated guess that this is Lenox. But am selling it as just a beautiful lamp. Unless I am 100% sure, I do not want to misrepresent the auction. Based on the compressed type of paper liner that was on the bottom originally, I would estimate this lamp at being 50 years old, if not older. Works fine. Bulb and shade not included.
