This is a ventage solid brass plate wind casting reel wich is considerd a trade reel of wich of many that was made and used and sold in hardware stores in the late 1800s. This reel is in excelent condition with a strong clicker that would have been used on a short bamboo rod and could still be used or set in an office as a conversation peice as it is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter there is no makers mark other than made in england stamped on the side it would be a great christmas gift for the avid fisherman to collect. I made this piece for my own playing. It has a custom 30 throat and tight vintage shaped backbore. It plays incredibly easily and efficiently. New this piece would cost you $185 from my shop. Austin Custom Brass Trent Austin Signature Mouthpiece Here is an opportunity to purchase the same model mouthpiece that I perform on regularly. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to design and manufacture custom trumpet mouthpieces of the highest quality. In the past 10 years working with many trumpet makers I’ve been extremely lucky to pick the brains of some of the best! They’ve showed me a ton of incredible insight as well as help guide me down this path. The reason ... moremy shop exists is to highlight three new lines of trumpet mouthpieces. Heim, Al Cass, Giardinelli, Vincent Bach(NY) Parduba, and Purviance. I truly believe some of the most fantastic design concepts came out of the“golden age” of trumpet. In the past few years I’ve been very lucky to be able to acquire mouthpieces from many of the world’s greatest players. One of the pieces I’ve loved so much is the special mouthpiece made for one of my heroes, Clark Terry. His piece, which was based of a Gustat Heim, had an incredibly efficient“vee” shape while not making the tone brittle or strident. I think the V-cupped shapes have both wonderful ease/efficiency and an incredible tone. For this piece I modified the rim and cup to make it more accessible to today’s modern player. Vintage Stirling Boiler Brass Plate by Babcock& Wilcox Co approximately 7"x 9" For auction is a vintage Stirling Boiler brass plate by the Babcock& Wilcox Co. It measures approximately 7 x 9 inches and is all brass. Would have been removed from a boiler. Not sure of the age? Stirling Boilers were early forms of"water-tube boilers" used to generate steam in large land-based stationary plants or large ships. Babcock and Wilcox bought them out in 1909. The Cloak Room was located adjacent to the old barber shop under the Broadway sidewalk. It was removed in the late 1970s to make room for progress. The large brass hooks and brass number plates were purchased at that time by a floor specialist who saw potential. He has held onto them until today. Nice well made older style Joiner's try square. Blade is 8" l ength. 1 7/8" wide and 1/16" thic k- solid, heavy gauge. Good sound w ood stock looks like White Oak with nice oval indents- 5 9/16" length. 1 3/4" with brass plate on inside edge and 11/16" thick. Brass plate hel d in place by 2 main screws and 2 addt'l pins near b lade. 3 stout double pins hold the blade to the handle. They are 7/16" diameter and in a triangular pattern. Sometimes the pin style identifies the maker but I've not found info on this one. No gradation marks on blade and no other markings found anywhere on tool. Gr eat patina and nicely worn appearance after decades of use. Nice solid tool still great to use or for the collector. Good Luck bidding!

George Price would certainly be a main protagonist! page 3 Demonstrations of resistance to fire In 1854. George set up his first public demonstration of the fire-resistance of his safes. Public demonstrations were supposed to prove that manufacturers' claims and advertisements were true. George gives an account in his Treatise of this first demonstration, which he asked a Milner's foreman to assist him in setting up. Soon after taking over the business of which I am now proprietor. Relying on the statements of other makers as well as on the assurances of a person in my employ, as to the fire-resisting ... morecapabilities of safes made fire-proof by the use of a simple non-conductor(which activated the production of steam to preserve the contents) I had a public test of two safes made on this principle and invited my friends and fellow townsmen to be present a the trial. Condition is very good with no damage; plate does retain some paint runs and splatter from where it was on the ship. But this just attests to its authenticity. Vintage brass eagle double and single switch plate covers with screws
This is a set of two solid brass eagle light switch plates- one double switch and one single switch- with original screws. Each of the pieces has scrollwork on top and bottom. And an eagle rising from the center top. Each looks a bit like a picture frame that is recessed on the inside where the switch protrudes. On the plates there are alternating plain brass panels alternating with four-line panels in relief. The larger plate is 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. The single-switch plate is 6 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches. The switch opening are 1 inch by 1/2 inch. On the back of the double switch plate is the number 63 3479. On the back of the single switch plate is the number 63 3478. There is no maker's mark. There is a streak of light-colored tacky substance on the back of the larger plate. The pieces are otherwise in good condition. They could use a cleaning/polishing.
