American Eagle Table Lamps 1950's PAIR! Nice Brass Patina Colonial Revival NR!
Here is 1 PAIR of 1950's to early'60's Brass American Eagle table lamps. They belonged to my grandparents but my dad couldn't remember when they got them. These would be neat to put in your colonial-revival or'50's kitsch home decor. Or if you are just patriotic like my family. Measures 34.5" high, 14" at the base of the shade and 7" at the base of the lamp. Shades have some damage- a couple of wrinkles and perforations, but overall not terrible. These lamps work and appear to be safe, but the winning bidder is solely responsible for the safety evaluation and use of the items. Antique Brass Hitchcock Lovell and Co 1888 Eagle Oil Lamp
I don't know much about antique brass oil lamps. But from what I can gather from online research, this fits the bill. The embossing says"Hitchcock Lamp Lovell and Company 1888" It also has an eagle between the"18" and the"88" I don't know what kind of condition this lamp is in. The only areas of concern are around the base, some dents or distortions. They are not very noticeable from a distance, and most definitely do not take away from the overall gestalt of the item. There is a small crack near the top around the flame guard about 1/2" long. The embossing is faded. The word"Hitchcock" is somewhat faded, and the"L" in"Lovell" has faded. On very close inspection minor age related issues include one small area has a missing piece of swag maybe 1/4 inch. there is also a screw hole w small bracket to hold up the roping that is not on one lamp(the roping is there) These lamps are now electrified and they chose to have the wire come through the torch handle rather than disturb the original lamps. THE CLEAR GLASS FRONT HAS A BASE'PLEATED WITH A PICKET' DESIGN ON THE UNDERSIDE. THIS LAMP HAS A NO. 2 BRASS INSERT COLLAR; A NO. 2 BRASS EAGLE BURNER; AND A NO. 2 CLEAR GLASS. REPLACEMENT CHIMNEY WITH A PEARL, OR BEADED, TOP. THE LAMP MEASURES 9 INCHES HIGH FROM THE BASE TO THE TOP OF THE COLLAR AND THE BASE MEASURES 6 INCHES DIAMETER.
