Antique Depose Oil Lamp with Blue Thumbprint Glass Font and Silver Spelter Metal Base and Agate Stem Description: Footed table lamp has a brown colored agate or stone stem section. Base is silver finished spelter metal or maybe pewter. Glass font tank is blue glass with a thumb print honeycomb pattern. The pattern can be felt on the outside. Glass section is in perfect condition with no cracks. Chips, or cloudiness. Glass does have lots of tiny little air bubbles cased within the glass. Burner collar is unmarked and shows signs of age(tiny stress cracks) upon very close inspection. Burner seems complete and burns a flat wick. Included. Wick adjustment knob works fine. It is marked with a lion and the letters O. E. B. The knob nameplate has a crack as pictured. One chimney mounting tab is missing. Antique. Rayo, nickle plated, oil lamp with glass flume and blue glass shade. Pat Nov. 20. 94(1894) Has the no. 2496 and made on February 29, 1905. Measures 21 1/4 inches tall. The shade is 6 1/2 inches tall by 9 5/8 inches diameter. The flume is 10 1/4 inches tall, and the tank is 7 inches diameter. The lamp base is 6 1/2 inches diameter. The tank does have a few small minor dents but not bad considering how extremely old it is. The glass flume and shade are in great condition with no chips, breaks or cracks. Great antique table lamp. Antique Austrian German Oil Lamps Ditmar blue glass with Mirror Reflectors
They are not exactly the same. The blue glass bases are the same size and the burners. One mirror reflector was made in Germany for Ditmar, the other was made in Austria for Ditmar. The shades look to be original but one is taller than the other. The hanging hook on the reflector and the fastening clamp is different between the two. Very old and very rare, no cracks, dents, or chips. The mirrors have a little foxing around the rims. With the chimney one measures 11 5/8" tall, the other is 13" tall, the bases are 4.5" wide. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Save on combined shipping. Insurance will be added to the cost of shipping if necessary.

Victorian Oil Kerosene Lamp Blue Cased Cut Glass Font Fenton Coin Dot Ball Shade
Victorian Duplex Burner Kerosene Oil Lamp C. 1880-90 ORIGINAL PERIOD LAMP. NOT A REPRODUCTION. The font is mold blown cased glass. Clear over blue. The clear surface is delicately wheel cut in a lace like pattern. The third photo shows the truest color) The font is mounted with a brass collar and tapered support that are cemented on. The lamp's base is brass with a iron under plate. The duplex burner's knobs are embossed with a globe emblem. The Fenton blown opaline coin dot glass shade is old, whether it is original to the base is unknowable but they have been together for some time. I have worked on antique lamps for over thirty years. I have not seen a similar font before. CONDITION: Surprisingly good. The font has not been drilled and has no problems. The brass elements have darkened with age and can be polished as brightly as ... moreyou desire. There is surface rust on the iron under plate. The burner was gutted when it was electrified. The rowels that move the wicks are still in place. A section of the gallery that holds the chimney in place is missing. The chimney still fits tightly. The chimney is not as old as the lamp(few are) and has chips on its bottom and top edges. The shade, no cracks, it has chips on the inner surface of its fitter opening, these may have occurred when the shade was made and the fitter lip was ground, and again, chips on the inner edge of its top opening, these are from use. Such chips are typical on old shades. Dimensions: 24 1/2" tall with the chimney in place. The lamp. To the font collar, 11 1/4" tall. Font, 6" maximum diameter. Foot, 7" diameter. Shade, 4" fitter, 7" maximum diameter. The entire lamp weighs, 8 pounds, 6 ounces. It will be disassembled when packed. Elegant blue glass oil lamp base and font. See description for condition.
Description This is a beautiful oil lamp in milk glass overlaid with a duck egg blue glass or paint and with painted and gilt decoration on both the front and rear of the lamp. There are brass/ormolu handles connected to a ring which supports the brass font support inside the lamp(please see condition notes for the age cracking this has suffered- although very striking when studied. The age cracking is not visible when the lamp is complete nor does it affect the working of the lamp. There is a brass/ormolu foot to the lamp, held on using a central threaded rod and a metal plate. The glass font which makes up the top of the lamp above the ormolu/handle ring has a crack on the top shoulder. Obvious but can be turned to the back of the lamp to hide it for display. The decoration on the front is of a French rococco design. Of two children(one ... moreboy and one girl) dressed in the style of Versailles and King Louis of France, in a rose garden. On the back is an attractive rococco design in white and gold. The blue finish has streaks and marks that are from when it was applied, not noticeable unless looking closely and obviously from the manufacturing process. There is one chip to the gilt ring below the panel with the two children, this is shallow but has gone through the gilt and the blue finish to show the white underneath but is very small(approx 3mm diameter) There is no burner with the lamp and the collar had come off so the font has been cleaned ready for a new collar. The original collar was for a duplex burner and was presumably older as it was a push fit variety rather than a bayonet or screw in fitting. Height of the lamp is 13.5 inches and the width of the handles is 7.5inches. Overall this is a very beautiful lamp and a nice example of it's type. Unusual to still have the correct font for it! I am selling as I need to reduce my collection! Condition This oil lamp is a beautiful piece but has some damage to be noted. You are bidding on a rare Peacock Feather pattern parlor/oil lamp in the extremely rare blue color. The Peacock Feather pattern was made in the 1890's by U.S. Glass. It is part of the States Series of glass. This pattern is also known by the names Georgia. Peacock Eye, and#15076. A band of beaded eyes surrounds the font and the base of the lamp. The beading is small and delicate. A small stippled thumbprint appears in the center of each eye. The base of the lamp is scalloped. The pedestal of the lamp is footed. If you look closely. The pedestal and base look like upside down peacock feathers. The lamp has its original brass collar that was attached with plaster. This lamp is about 6 1/2" in diameter. And it stands 9" tall. There is no maker's mark, but this pattern is attributed to U.S. Glass. There are some bubbles suspended ... morein the glass. And that is a nice sign of early glass. An antique. Circa 1850, composite oil lamp. The blue glass font is probably a reproduction put into a period marble base and brass pedestal. The collar and two prong burner are also period(the burner appears to have been solder repaired. As presented the lamp measures 10-1/2" tall by 4" diameter. Very good condition: marble without damage with light soiling. The brass pedestal has a small hairline crack at top, original patina. The font is undamaged. The burner fits well the collar.

The pattern name of the font eludes me but can be found in any quality book on blue milk glass. Nice fluted top and cross hatched pattern shade compliments the color of the BMG. Frosted chimney stops the glare from a clear glass chimney. 21" to top of chimney. A lovely lady informed me that this lamp was made by Dithridge Co. and the pattern is Sunset.

The condition is superb, the only issues are a mild bruise on the top lip of the glass on the inside of the brass ring(see pic)some surface rust on the cast iron base and some spotting on the lower brass ring. The burner rim appears to have been repasted back in place in the past and is firm and secure. A very fine antique. Circa 1880's, Aesthetic Movement style oil lamp base. The mold blown glass is opaque deep turquoise blue, banded in gilt lines. It is artistically hand painted, in white enamel in the my manner of Mary Gregory, with a lady watering a potted fern in a landscape. The unmarked brass collar has two wings for attachment of a certain type of burner(example: English Hinkes burners. The open to the collar is 1-1/2" diameter, the exterior diameter of the collar 2-3/8" Excellent condition: glass without chips or cracks, some normal wear to gilting. All enamels unworn. Lamp total measures 13-5/8" tall by 6-1/2" bottom diameter.

This company start selling kerosene in the first years of the twentieth century under the brand name Sunflower Kerosene.
