Pair 1920's Italy Italian Terracotta Art Pottery Lamps, Candle Holders Tedesco
Here is what appears to be a great pair of 1920's Tedesco period Southern Italy lamps on wrought iron bases. The date is based on the fact that the Ovington Store in New York and Chicago was around during the 1920's. Also. These were likely made as candle holders to simulate a lighthouse. The colors are so vibrant for its age. Each have 2 horsemen decorations. The pottery piece itself stands 11 1/2" tall. The makers mark looks like FA and CC. One of the tops has a break and a repair at the light socket(see photo) It does appear to be hand turned. Shipping to the continental USA will be $16.95. International shipping will be calculated. The glaze is bright and shiny and under very close inspection I did find one glaze pop and a few minor nicks in the gold paint on the earrings. This fun lamp base measures about 8 1/2" high or 11" to the top of the light and 3 6/8" in diameter at the base. The lamp works but the cord is the old two prong style and it a bit dry from age. antique vintage crock stoneware lamp pottery folk art primitive country table
This auction is for a vintage lamp. The lamp is made from an old crock. The crock itself is in good shape. You can see a line in the crock but it is not a crack or if it is was there before it was fired. Also some small flea bites around the base but I am being picky. It is a nice lamp. It measures 23 inches to the top of the brass finial and 16 inches to where you screw in the lightbulb. No shade. Thanks for looking.

GINGER JAR POTTERY LAMP LIGHT VASE GLAZE ART CRAFTS NOUVEAU 20s CHINESE ORIENTAL
Vintage 1920's Handmade Oriental Glazed Ginger Jar Lamp. The jar is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks present. All the original brass electrical hardware is still intact including the original finial. The wood base is also nice with a small split starting from the hole for the wire. Measures 9" tall(to the base of the light socket) the jar is about 8" diameter. Overall height is 21" to the top of the finial. The light will need to be completely rewired as the original cloth covered wire is in poor condition. There are many companies that make period correct cloth wire for an exact replacement. I took the lamp to a reputable local antique shop where I was told it was very popular to use vintage oriental ginger jars as lamp bases. They were very confident that the lamp dated to the 1920's. vintage ECanada art pottery lamps (Wedgewood style)
Up for sale are a pair of vintage ECanada art pottery lamps in the style of Wedgewood. They were made between 1926 and 1952 by the ECanada Art Pottery Company in Ontario by George Emery Sr. who had a 14 year apprenticeship with Wedgewood. Which shows in the detail of the lamps. The lamps are of slightly different shades of blue. They are in great condition with no chips or scratches. They are stamped with the ECanada mark and 1926. The cloth lamp shades are in good condition with no tears or holes. But one does have two stains on it which I have not tried to remove. The wiring has been upgraded except for the inside of the lamps. One socket appears to be original, and the other his newer. See the photos. The lamps will be sent USPS. Vintage Deco Japanese Studio Art Pottery Flambe Drip Glaze Lamp Awaji Mark 1930
This listing is for a rare Awaji-ware lamp. This lamp was potted as a lamp- not a vase. It is fully marked with the Awaji Island flag mark. Kiln mark, export mark, and another mark- possibly the artist. I am dating it between 1921 and 1939, because the"Made in Japan" mark started in 1921, and both the Sanpei and Rikita kilns of Awaji closed in 1939. The lamp measures 18" tall overall. The exposed pottery portion measures 7 1/4" tall. And 8 1/2" greatest diameter. The pottery has intentional course ridges left from throwing along with undulating, incised decoration and amazing, frothy purple, red, green, and white drip glaze. The combined glaze and texture is quite robust, and reminiscent of ocean waves- possibly the island potter's inspiration. The lamp is complete with its(original? 13.75" cased green glass ... moreshade and and fittings. I think the shade is an Emeralite. It is definately period correct. And probably original to the lamp. I'm fairly certain that these cone-shades were originally produced to be hung from ceiling fixtures, but companies that produced lamps(especially one-of-a-kind studio pottery lamps) used whatever parts were appropriate and available. I love the studio-made, wire shade fitter(the original black paint can be seen on the underside) It looks like the lamp had a re-wire and extra coat of gold-tone paint in the 50's or 60's. It works well. Both the pottery and shade are excellent with no damage(If you're unfamiliar with antique shades. The top and bottom are"rough-cut" at the factory, and a uniformly rough edge with minimal chipping is the factory as-made norm) Overall a very rare. Complete lamp in excellent, original, working condition to accent your Art Deco or Mid Century Modern decor- or fill a spot in your Japanese pottery collection! Email with any questions. Superb Antique Czech Art Pottery 2 Socket Lamp Hand Painted Mountain Snow Scene
This auction is for a Fantastic and Beautiful Double Socket Antique Art Pottery Lamp with a Striking Hand Painted Forrest Scene made in Czechoslovakia. The scene depicts a Mountain Valley Looking Down on Homes with Snow Covered Roofs nestled among the tall Forrest Trees and a Morning Mist as a sun rises in the background. The painting instantly takes you to a place of quiet serenity. You can almost feel the chill in the air with the dawn of a new day. The lamp body is pottery or earthenware and hand painted under a clear glaze. It is marked on the bottom"czechoslovakia" inside a circle when disconnected from the base. The lamp is in Very Good Condition. Especially for its age, which I believe dates to the 1920s or 30s. There are no chips or cracks or damage. The images and colors- brown. Purple, white, yellow and orange-are clear ... moreand bright. There are a few small areas where the glaze is missing. It is not damaged, but merely missing glaze done in the firing/ manufacturing process. There is also under glaze crazing as is expected from pottery of this era. I only adds to the character and authenticity of this Great Find. The body sits on an intricately molded metal brass base with a Greek Key pattern and has two sockets with pull cords. The metal has great patina built up over the years. I have tested the lamp and it works well. The lamp measures 22 inches tall from the base to the top of the sockets. This is a beautiful. High-quality pair of vintage French Art Deco round ball shaped green glaze art pottery table lamps. They date circa 1920s or 1930s. The design on these is great. This most unusual lamp of the years just before WWII is molded and hand carved with forms borrowed from neoclassical tradition including a stylized female bust and handled urn. Perhaps inspired by an early American Jenny Linde flask. It has designs on both sides. Arts Crafts Slag Glass Pottery Base Table Lamp Art
This lamp measures: 19.5" across largest part of shade. 7" across at the base and 23.5" tall. I find no mark of any kind. I believe that the base is pottery. Possibly redware. It is not metal. It has a faux hammered look with arts and crafts flowers. No damage to the base. The metalwork on the shade repeats the pattern on the base. There are no breaks in the metal or cracks in the glass panels. I would guess that it is a white metal. Original finial. There is some corrosion or oxidation around the finial. Rare Antique Art Deco Czech Alien Ware Ditmar Urbach Arts & Crafts Pottery Lamp
Beautiful antique pottery lamp in excellent condition with no hairlines. Cracks, chips, etc. This lamp has been professionally reworked with a new cord, and each socket component has been rewired as well. The bottom of the pottery base is impressed Made in Czechoslovakia. The lamp rests on a circular wooden base that is app. 5 1/2" diameter. The lamp is approximately 23" high to the top of the finial. The pottery portion is about 13" to the base of the metal. All of the parts of this lamp are original, except the new cord. Needless to say this lamp functions properly with two pull chains as shown. RARE Early Vintage Cubist- Abstract- Surrealist- Modern Art Pottery Lamp. This lamp was recently discovered in the basement of an 1800s Victorian home renovation in the Five Points area of Denver. CO. It was in a crawl space with several old oil paintings. There are no markings of any sort on the pottery base that is shaped like a pitcher. The brass sockets are unmarked but appear to be Hubbel. The round brass globes on the pull chains are marked"Pat. May 9 1911. The base is 10" tall and the total height is 18" The lamp is not wired.
