ANTIQUE SLAG GLASS OR REVERSE PAINTED BRONZE TABLE LAMP BASE WITH DOUBLE SOCKET
No manufacturing marks found. Two tone bronze patinas. Base is yellow bronze casting the upper classical urn body is a dark liver patina. I took the base apart looking for identifying larks and showed interior in photos. Light sockets work with original wiring and toggles. this is a slag lamp base from the 1920's sturdy enough to hold a very large slag glass canapy. Only one defect is minor dent in the shadows of side that I backlighted to exaggerate for you to see better. It is not noticable. Found in North Crown Heights. Brooklyn Historic district.

Pretty, antique, reverse, painted, glass, oil/kerosene lamp that stands 20 1/2" tall to the top of the chimney; to the top of the brass burner measures about 13 1/8" and the pattern, glass, frosted font is approximately 6 1/2" in diameter. As seen, it has a black, painted, square, metal base that is 4 3/4" The condition of this lamp is excellent with no cracks or chips in the glass and no splits in the metal base or brass fittings. The pattern on the shade repeats once but seamlessly. The base is also very fine glass with the same brownish orange background color, and is hand painted on the outside surface with landscape scenes similar to the shade except without houses. There is one"Czechoslovakia" sticker taped to the bottom of the shade, and another"Czechoslovakia" sticker glued to the base. No company names or signatures are found. Clearly this lamp is from the electric light vintage as there would be no escape for fuel heat or combustion products, or entrance for oxygen. Looks similar to a Ruckl or a Bellova, but an internet search did not turn up any exact matches. Condition: The shade and base are in very good vintage condition having no cracks. Repairs, or repainting. There is one small chip about 1/8 by 1/8 by 1/16 inch deep in the base at the surface hole where the cord exits. Electrically, the socket and cord look original. The cord has been taped at the exit from the base and the fabric is worn from the cord near the tape and near the plug. Consideration should be given to rewiring the lamp from the socket to the plug. Overall. This beautiful lamp is in very good original condition, is in good working order, and displays beautiful natural landscape scenes when lit. This is a rare and beautiful antique American table lamp from the famous firm of Bradley& Hubbard(Meriden. Connecticut 1852-1940) The glass shade has the shape of a modified pine cone and an unusual reverse painted design depicting a blue lattice basket surrounded by gold and green leaves. The body and pedestal are made of hollow bronze. The hand painted design done on each of the 4 panels matches the colors of the lamp. Each of the four panels of the shade is identified by the engraved company name. Bradley& Hubbard Manufacturing Co. The shade measures approximately 17” in diameter and about 9” tall. The shade glass has a vertically ribbed texture on the outside and has an overall frosted look to the inside of the shade. The lamp base is a bronze-bronze color with a crackled texture and is shaped like a slender urn. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique lamp. This grand lamp(37" with shade attached) features an ornate, bronzed spelter frame with intricate details. The base of the frame has ornamental urns with bellflower swags. There are geometric circles for contrast. The lamp base houses 4, bent, ribbed glass panels which are reverse painted in a rose or chrysanthemum motif. The base is lighted separately(functions independently) from the top of the lamp and operates with one standard bulb and a pull chain on/off switch. The center section of the lamp features 3 large figural putti. This trio act as the weight bearers for the large glass lamp shade. The opaline glass shade is a light tan color on the exterior and white on the interior. The glass is fairly thick and features a deeply swirled pattern. Approx 5 1/4" tall top opening diameter approx 2 1/8" outside rim. Bottom opening inside 6 1/4" diameter. J efferson reverse painted table lamp. The hand painted shade is 18 inches in diameter and is in mint condition. There are no chips or flakes on the edges and no fractures or cracks in the shade itself. The glass is decorated with an ice chip texture similar to the techniques used by Handel. Although not signed. Based on the design of the woodland scene this lanp has been identified as being part the Prince Charles group as pictured in the Millender books of lamp catalog and is referred to as number L1 888 Woodland Rd. it is also pictured on page 118 in Antique Lamp Buyers Guide by Nadja Maril; Schiffer Publishing. We are pleased to offer this antique table lamp for auction. This beauty stands an impressive 25 inches tall to the top of the brass finial. And the shade measures 18 inches in diameter with a 3 ¼ inch fitter. Both the shade and base are unmarked. But date to sometime in the 1920’s or 30’s. The base is a cast iron in composition and has the original painted bronze finish with a rich. Warm patina. The finish is nearly 100% with just a small loss around the edge of the base. Antique 1900-1940's Phoenix Glass Company Reverse Painted Lamp Pink Hue
Up for sale is a gorgeous ANTIQUE PHOENIX GLASS COMPANY lamp featuring a reverse painted glass shade. It is in working condition as demonstrated in the pictures. The base could use some cleaning up but there does not appear to be any significant damage on either the base or the shade. From bottom of the base to the top of the finial. It stands 23 inches tall. The shade is 16 inches in diameter. I don’t know much about the lamp. I have tried researching it but have not found much information online regarding the company. The“1876” mark on the bottom seems to be a hallmark of the Phoenix Company, though. It has been in my family for years(it belonged to my father’s grandmother) so it is probably from the early 1920’s, perhaps earlier. Reverse painted lamp shades became popular around 1890-1910. The art of reverse painting can be traced back centuries. Particularly in Renaissance Italy where the process was admired and utilized to produce miniatures of religious subjects. As time moved on artisans from Austria and Poland perfected this skill, and some of those artisans were amongst the millions of immigrants who came to the United States in the late 1800's. The art of the reverse painted lamp shade became extremely popular in the United States. There were several distinguished companies that are generally associated with this process. Manufacturers such as Pairpoint. Handel, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and Jefferson created beautiful ... morelamps in their time. THE LISTED LAMP: There is no makers mark found on this lamp. When lit it gives off a beautiful multi-colored glow. Highlighted by the pink ribbon drapery effect around the shade's corners and edges. Each of the four sides of the shade are different depictions of people engaged in different activities. The lamp itself is cast metal that has been finished in a brass color. The lamp measures 21" to the top of the finial. The shade is 13 1/4" square at the bottom corners. And it is about 6 1/4" high from the center of the bottom"drapes. And about 4 7/8" high at the corners. The lamp and shade combined weigh 12.0 pounds. CONDITION: There is some brass finish loss to the lamp. And a tiny crack in the pole metal as seen in photograph# 9. This does not affect the stability of the piece at all and it cannot be seen unless the shade is taken off and one looks very close. The shade is in good condition with no cracks. There is a little roughness to the under edges of the shade as seen in the last photograph. And a very small chip under one corner as seen in photograph# 11. The camera makes it look pronounced but one really has to look close

Antique Art Deco Reverse Painted Glass Panel Boudor or Table Lamp
I have a wonderful boudoir or end table lamp. It is comprised of three curved glass panels that have scenes painted on the interior of the glass. They look to be of Asian gardens but 50 to 60 percent of the paint is missing so tough to tell. The outside of the glass is ribbed giving it a watery look and the cast metal has applied gold paint. Very ornate design with minor loss of paint to the exterior. Some darkening to the interior, top mostly, and the paint loss issue. Cord and plug has no switch, it just lights up when you plug it in. About 12" tall over all, 10" when top cap is removed and 4.25" diameter at its widest. Thanks for looking.
