It looks like there are small paint flakes on the glass but otherwise in very good vintage condition. The bottom gas inlet and burner portion appears to be brass and the top shade looks to be lightweight copper. There are a couple missing thumb screws on the top portion. Antique Gas Lamp Lighter Brass New York Wood Handle
You are bidding on a brass"arm" used to light gas lights or lamps from about 1880 to 1916. In 1916. Gas lights were no longer used as street lights. The brass is marked" New York" It is approximately 28 1/2" long. With a wooden handle. The curved top was used to push up the glass dome of the lamp and the small round piece that goes out to the side housed a wick that would ignite the gas. It makes a great decorative piece and is in excellent condition- see photos.

For your Consideration: This listing is for a very nice Antique Kerosene Gas Lamp. This Lamp has no makers mark. May be a COLEMAN but i cant be sure. The base neck just below the wood carry post doesn't taper up like a Coleman. This lamp measures approx. 19" tall. Chrome base is approx. 8-1/8" diameter. The lamp shade measures approx. 8 1/4" in diameter and has no cracks and only one micro tiny chip on both the top& bottom lips. Near the Top interior part visible from above the shade has the number 183 written in and then glazed over. See picture#8. Wood handled Pumper for the tank comes with it and works great. Pump is missing the small wood screw on one side but this doesn't affect its ability to pump pressure into the tank. Please look close at all pictures for they also serve as part of the description. nice old table lamp that at one time was a gas light the fitting was removed so wire could be run for electric but is still with the lamp. it is 21 inch high. the shade is 12 inch across and 7 1/2 inch deep. there is paint wear as you can see on photos cannot list every single little flake of paint but overall lamp is real nice looking. there is one side of the shade that has defect in pattern worn away or imperfect metal mold the crescent on the top of the dome building is missing if you look at the shade images you will be able to see it otherwise the metal framework is all good as is the base good and strong. I was not able to find manufacture marks anywhere.

This is a wonderful old antique lamp from the gas light era. It has adorned the foot of the stairs as a newel post lamp in a grand old Victorian mansion in Philadelphia for well over a hundred years. Fantastic estate find-antique brass hanging lamp in wonderful condition. The brass ball is heavy and makes the fixture weigh nearly 10 pounds. We don't know hoe old a magnet sticks to back but not to front. The shade is glass with green raised pattern. We're not sure how it ran. On gas or kerosene. We have had it in a box for years. Found it cleaning an aunts house out.it has tiny chip in shade no cracks. Shade is aprox. 11" diameter.

Antique Gas Fixture Light Lamp Newel Post Etched Glass Shade
Here is a Victorian gas fixture that is also a newel post. The bracket that holds the shade to the post is damaged and we do not trust it without holding the shade on so we were not able to get better photos. It is a lovely piece and hopefully that shows. The pole is 52" long top to bottom, and it is 7" wide where the ornate elements stick out. Nice patina and in good condition. The shade is 4" high and 7 1/4" in diameter with no cracks or chips. This should be shipped in two boxes, one for the shade and one for the pole, if the new owner wishes us to do that we can send a second invoice for additional shipping. Antique Ornate Industrial Style Gas Lamp, RTU, Electric or Gas, One of a Kind!
Offered for sale today is a one of a kind antique gas lamp from the late 1800's or early 1900's. I picked it up in it's original state at a favorite antique shop where it called out to me in it's dusty. Rusty, neglected glory. The porcelain enamel and gold trim had seen better days. I re-enameled it, applied gold trim, and cleaned all the internal and external parts, preserving the original parts within, and adding one fitting in order to electrify it. It has a high efficiency electric light fixture now, with a beaded pull string and antique brass lamp hook to hang it. It turned out as I had envisioned, and can be re-converted to natural gas with the one part removed. it will need new needle valve springs and a main valve spring to make this happen) The internal mantle mounts and heads are intact and clean. It measures 24" ... moretall with the shade diameter at 19" Anyhow, I'd keep it if I had a place to mount it. However, I don't so it needs a good home. I surmise that it was used in a store or dance hall setting originally, given the finish and trim. A wonderful example of the age, and ready for installation as an electrical fixture, or reconverted to gas with little effort. Antique Silver Plated Kerosene Gas Lamp Base & Burner with Floral Motif, Meriden
An antique kerosone or gas lamp burner with base by Meriden. USA with decorative two cherry tree branches with blossoms flanking it, a tall handle and ornamental four legs. Item is silver plated but I'm not sure what other metals were used. The glass lamp that normally goes with it has been broken or lost and only another piece of the burner is included(see photos) The Meriden hallmark is inscribed on the bottom. Antique c.1900 COLT Sconce Gas Bracket Lamp orig Glass Globe & RARE Wire Cage!!!
A wonderful Colt gas lamp from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Globe original and has nice wavy glass with imperfections such as bubbles but no cracks or hairlines and it is as clear a scan be. In nearly 40 years of dealing in and collecting vintage and antique items. This is the first one I've owned that retains its original steel wire cage around the globe. This wire cage was put in place so that you would not burn yourself when near or around the glass globe. A quick search on the net turned up copper cages so they are out there but I could not find a steel one. One would assume that the copper ones were earlier then in later years they changed to steel due to expense and conductivity. I believe most of the parts to be original to the lamp however the cap leaves a question in my mind. The ones I've had in the past had ... morethe colt name embossed into the cap. This one does not but the cap looks old, the screw that holds the finial on looks correct and the finial looks correct as well so it may be possible that in later years the Colt company eliminated the name on the cap. There is a raised ridge inside the cap for the heat screen to sit, finial looks correct. I'm truly on the fence about this particular part so you experts will have to make up your own minds as to originality. The shade holder is patented 1894 and all the rest of the parts are original. It has been electrified, the wire is in place however there is no socket. The lamp swivels near the valve and when it would be 90 degrees to the wall, the protrusion is 16" Diameter of the cage is about 8" Please view all of the pictures below and if you should have any questions, please feel free to ask. This beautiful glass ceiling shade is in good shape with NO chips. NO cracks and NO breaks. This is a beautiful acid etched crystal glass shade tapering into a beautiful blue glass, with a wonderful ivy and flowers atcid etching. This shade has lovely crimped& ruffled fluted edges. There is your typical and standard roughness/flea biting around the edges where the shade is attached to the fixture, but this is nothing you see when the shade is attached ... moreto the fixture. The opening that attached to the fixture measures approximately 2" on the outside. And a hair under 1-3/4" at the"waistline" of the opening. The general diameter of this piece is 3" with it opening to 5" from furthest ruffle edge to ruffle edge. When you stand it on end, it is approximately 4" tall. Gas era light fixture. Carmel color glass is in good condition. I believe some of the burner parts are missing.
