This lamp was made out of a tole painted 19thC child's milk jug sometime in the 1930s or 40s. I plugged it in and took it's picture so you would see that it's working. But the lightbulb and shade have been removed to make the shipping easier on this old bird and cheaper on you. The can itself measures 8" X 4" Nice working tole lamp for almost no money! Great one of a kind item. Usual den ts and paint loss such items have no signature but obviously not done by a novice. My feedback reflects that there was a glitch in my shipping this winter. The globe measures approx. 9" in diameter, and sports a metal finial top that is purely decorative. We like the fiddle-head fern like pattern on the glass, which is in very good to excellent condition, though there are some chips to the fitter circle, as many antique lampshades have, but the frame obscures the flaw. It measures 15 inches in height( this measurement is only for vase part)and 4" top attachment part of the lamp. By 7 1/2 inches(19 cm) in width. It is beautifully decorated in traditional hand painted Moriage fashion, gold/yellow swirls as well as other color details. I've been asked to sell some inherited antiques. Offered here is a verified porcelain Dresden lamp. It carries the hallmark of Carl Thieme Pottschapper. Germany dating it to 1880-1890. It was an oil lamp that was converted to electricity. It is white porcelain with piercing in the base and mid stem. It has sweet applied roses and forget me not flowers in pink and blue. It also has hand painted flowers, butterflies and romantic scenes. Just the base is 18 inches tall. The brass on top adds 5 more inches to the height. A shade would attach via the attached harp. Finial is a modern addition and easily removable. It was appraised and valued in 1989 by a property consultant. It was rated as excellent and valued, then, at $750.00. Very nice old EAPG 1800's oil lamp. The pattern is heart top panel. Looks to be the original collar. I do not have the burner. Comes with the electric conversion adapter. Nothing drilled, easy to convert back by simply unscrewing the conversion and screwing in a burner. The brass stem has a dent near the base and a very shallow dent on the face. From the hand painted flowers to the colors to the impressive large size. This lamp is absolutely stunning. This is an antique lamp dating to about the 1890's. Although it may appear differently in the pictures, the main color is a burgundy or cranberry. It has been converted to electric however all you will need to convert it back to oil is the flame spreader and the chimney. Being a center draft type burner, no drilling was necessary when the conversion was done.The tank appears fine and the wick riser turns correctly. The first click of the switch lights up the base, the second turn lights both top and bottom globes, the 3rd click just the top globe and of course the 4th click turns the lamp off.
