Solid Cherry Newel Post and 3 solid cherry corner posts all part of the same staircase removed from a house built late 1800's. Newel Post is 4 ft. tall. This is a collection of(3) antique tapered colonial porch posts with nice decoration and in good overall condition for their age. They are solid posts and quite heavy. There is a matching pair which also have the round base and square caps each measuring 93" overall. The posts themselves are 7 3/4" in diameter at the base and taper to 6 1/4" wide at the top. For your consideration is a vintage pine newel post. The post is 4 3/4" square x 40" tall. As shown. The post retains the original varnish with paint spatters here and there. The original configuration had hand rails coming into two sides of this post.so like an"L" There are nail holes and no varnish in these areas. There is a small chip in one of the turned rings on the ball top, as shown in the last photo. Estate fresh and in as found condition, there are dings and scratches as should be expected. Nice set of 3 small wooden columns with an oak veneer. Some of the veneer is separating from the body of the column. There are a few cracks and splits. The capitols and bases are a little loose. They have an old chippy green patina. They would make a great stand for a candle or small potted plant. Overall they are in good and usable condition.
