ANTIQUE MAINE OAK PRAYER KNEELER This wonderful accent piece is a unique conversation piece. This Maine prayer kneeler is made of oak. The sides bear crosses as does the cut out front bottom. The top opens with two hinges which are in need of repair and is held by a chain link. The piece has some scratch marks as can be seen in the photos. It was used as a planter and shows some wear from that usage. But the overall piece is in good condition. The dimensions are 32" in height. 20" in width, floor to kneeler is 7" and the top opens up to 5" deep and 16" wide.

This is a solid oak pulpit or lectern of about 1890. Which was found here in Philadelphia. As you can see, it's truly gorgeous solid oak, and as you can also see, it needs some tightening-up and finish work(please look at all the pictures) but the only missing bit is a couple bits of trim around where the drop-in lectern top goes. Please note that this puppy is quite heavy, so it's strictly a pickup only piece(though I might be able to deliver it within a reasonable distance of Philadelphia for a fee) As a result of these items, it starts low with no reserve. Historic Retro Bar from Pittsburgh VFW - Must Be Picked Up
This is a historic wooden bar from a closed VFW in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania. The measuresments of the front bar are 30 feet L, 8 feet D, and 44 inches H- the measurements of the back bar are 20 feet L, 18 inches D and 88 inches H. The front bar has inlaid yellow and blue stripes and the back bar is wood with inlaid mirrors. There is metal serving equipment(sinks, cooler, etc. behind the bar which is included- we are not sure if they are operational but they look to be in decent condition. It is a stylish, unique piece that would look great in the right space. We will not deliver this item. The top and bottom were found separately missing whatever has been attached to them and I put the two together to give the pieces a new life of their own. It is very stable and heavy. It is solid walnut. Both sides fold open and are held in place by chains. Two appear to be original. Two appear to be replacements. Both fold out panels are decoratively carved with an Eastlake/Aesthetic design. The hinges on the side panels work fine and are tight. Antique Spinning Wheel found in French flea market
This wheel was found in a French flea Market. But I think the country of origin is probably Switzerland. I have not worked on a wheel like this before. And I was impressed by it’s straight forward linear design. The drive wheel crank and the pedal are in the front, along with the flyer orifice. There is an advantage to this design; the drive rod is directly below the wheel crank, so there is no transfer of power laterally to the rear, as in many other types of spinning wheels. It is a single drive wheel. Please note that the orifice is wood. The wheel came with a multi layer felt cradle to hold the orifice end of the flyer, but it had departed this world long, long ago. I added a wooden cradle and covered it with felt, so the orifice tip would ride higher, and be controlled by the tension control wool cord. As you can see, it is very primitive, but it works just fine. When I work on a wheel. I always do my best to make it spin. This is not always an easy process, and can take several days of trial and error. I often try to improve the function of the wheel. In the case of this wheel, I added brass bushings to the top of the drive rod, the crank, front and back. The felt that had held the flyer had worn completely out, and the flyer tension could not be controlled or adjusted. I want to stress that while I spend a great deal of time working on the spinning function, I never know how well it will spin, even though my wife helps me with this process. There is a reason for this. To know how an antique wheel is going to spin, some hours of practice spinning will be necessary to prove the wheel. It would be very difficult to learn on any antique spinning wheel, as a beginner. My wife is able to spin with little difficulty when trying out new spinning wheels by different makers, but she does not have this

Maryland. The downtown store was the site of an early sit-in during the civil rights movement-perhaps the first. Read's Drug Store has since gone out of business, leaving behind an empty building. There is currently a controversy over whether to raze this building for development or preserve it and turn it into a civil rights museum. Read's Drug Store was founded by William Read. He sold it to the Nattans family in 1899. The downtown store was constructed in 1934 by Smith& May. The term Country Chippendale is a trade phraseology for pieces of the finest quality that were crafted in the Chippendale period. This one is the holy grail of grain painted antique rustic period New England Antiques. We see great fakes in milk paint all the time but these are just as pure and correct as a collector could desire. We attribute this to New Hampshire or Vermont. Please take into consideration you are looking at fresh off the truck pictures in sunlight but you are seeing it warts and all. Its simply fabulous. We make no apology ... moreor excuses! It requires a VERY soft application of a very lightly tinted wax. We are happy to do this but in most case we have to crate& ship pieces and there is no way to do that without leaving smudge marks all over the fresh wax. We are going to back the original hinge screws out and beef up the holes so its grip remains a non issue throughout its life. We routinely do this when selling via this format.
