Shells attached to a wall pocket with a back made of wood and the front pocket may be stiffened board or cardboard. Some of the walnuts are missing or damaged as shown. But most remains. Fabric lining inside pocket is damaged as shown. The inside of the pocket needs to be cleaned. Back piece measures approx 10.5" x 6.25" The pocket tapers out at the top. Several large before& after restoration pictures below! Beautifully restored vintage. Circa 1950 ALPINE brand skis. Be assured that they look as good or better than the after pics below! Be sure to scroll down the whole way to see the restored"AFTER" pics! The pics really don't do them justice! These skis would look great above the fireplace mantle or on the wall in your mountain cabin. Ski house or lodge. I found these at an estate sale in an old barn along with another pair I restored that I have listed right now. Rich, warm, wood tones would go very well with most decor. They are circa 1950 skis, serial number 823 and the length is 6' 11" ... moreThe brand name is ALPINE with Dovre-Kabel bindings. They were covered in dirt and dust and the hardware was tarnished and had started to rust in many places. I really liked that a good bit of the original paint remained and that the owner had painted his initials on the tails of the skis so. I decided to restore these and keep them as original as possible but make them look really sharp. I removed all the hardware and sanded the wood with fine grit paper. Removing some of the finish and grime but, being careful to retain what was left of the original paint scheme. Someone years ago had recoated them with varnish and I removed most all of that. I then sprayed them with several coats of hi-gloss lacquer which I hand-rubbed between coats. This brought them back to life, yet retained their vintage paint scheme, look and the majority of the original finish and paint. All the metal hardware. Original screws included, was then sanded, steel wooled and polished, which took several hours. The bottoms of the skis were sanded and sealed with three sealer coats, keeping the original paint on the bottoms. In all, I spent about 8 or 9 hours plus materials restoring them so, most of the pric

We have 6 listed this week.My Great Uncle owned a lamp shop in DC for almost 50 years. From the late 30's until the early 80's. The lamps we have listed this week came from his estate. My aunt, his daughter, recently passed away and we took these parts from her attic. Her Dad had strung these parts in order on a piece of wire and had them hanging in his shop. After he passed my aunt brought them home and hung them in her attic. About 10 years ago she gave us a strand of these parts. We found a threaded pole here on ebay and took the pieces ... moreoff of the wire, sliding them down the pole in the order they came off of the wire and we have had a beautiful slag glass floor lamp ever since. My aunt has recently passed away and these parts came from her attic.This one has unusual pink slag glass with rusty brown colored swirls through it. I laid the parts out in a line on the floor and as far as I can tell you'll have a lamp that stands 55" tall. This lamp has all the parts to make a complete lamp including the socket however the socket doesn't snap as it should when you turn the on and off switch so not sure if it will actually work. There are 2 brass sleeves, one twisted and one straight both with matching filigree which I buffed a little so you can see what they'll look like once polished. The steel and cast parts had been stripped of their paint and or plating many years ago and had gotten rusty so I used my wire wheel on them cleaning them up but they will need a final wire brushing before applying the paint. The original paint is still on the bridge or goose neck part. Any of the other metal parts you see that are not cleaned up are brass. The threads in the base look fine and there are no chips or dam

Up for bid is gorgeous antique professionally hand carved 3 panel walnut French screen/ room divider only. It is a 3 screen that used to have hinges but these were lost over the years& it has a thin coat of yellow paint. I've seen allot of French carved screens claiming to have the best carvings but they were not the crisp clean quality detail& quality workmanship as this one has when you look up close; even the flowers are great. As shown it was put together in sections or pieces& one part of front middle section near top needs re-glued& has a little chip of wood missing. I'm pressing together in picture to show what it will look like ... morewhen glued& you can see what it looks like in pics not pressed together. It still has it's original panel inserts that you attach fabric to& then fit into back side of screen sections& attach with thin little tacks or nails. These fabric insert pieces show quite a bit of wear from changing fabrics over the years& are free to winning buyer if interested. I would ly screen down& trace outline to make new inserts or use original inserts as a template to make new ones maybe even out of plexiglass? For as old as screen is it only has a few chipped areas mostly where fabric sections fit inside back. 1 little cracked spot on base& some where hinges attach as pictured. There is what looks like glue over& around screw holes where hinges attach. The carvings are as fancy at the bottom as they are at the top where usually it's just the top that's fancy. This beauty was my mothers& I have been storing it for years& want to find a home where it will be loved& displayed. Tallest middle section measures aprox. 6 feet 3 1/4 inches tall. Chinese art screen probably Hsien-feng or Tz'u-hsim period 1 875-80 A coromandel screen is a Chinese folding screen coated in black or dark lacquer. The dark background is richly decorated with painted scenes from life or literature. Wooden panels are coated with pale clay followed by several layers of lacquer. The design is carved into the lacquer before paint is applied to the underlying clay. Creating a textured surface with recessed color. This is a really rare find. This is a folk art painted doll cradle from the 1880's. I purchased this cradle from a 92 year old woman who said this had been in her family since before the turn of the century. It looks like it might have been hand made and hand painted. Here's a nice original swivel top style type trash bin. Looks to be from the 1930's or 1940's. In good original condition. No dents or dings, original finish shows some wear. Very clean. Some light surface rust on the inside, black rubber strip in fine shape, the 4 rubber feet are there with 1 a little loose, has 4 small metal hooks on the inside corners for a liner. Nice art-deco font on the swivel top. Reads PUSH and Mipro Metal Products San Francisco. Would make a neat addition to a period 1930's style office or theater. Or perhaps as a prop? Antique Bench Table Furniture Box Art Deco Unique One Of A Kind Handmade
Up for auction here is a Bench Or Table That I Put Together. This is a one of a king. A conversation piece. The very top measures 12" wide X 29 1/4" long X 39 1/2" tall. It stands 3 1/2" taller than our kitchen counter top. This table could be used to set old items on such as old lamps. Clocks etc. I bought the box from someone& had an idea for it but ended up going a different direction with it. I sanded the sides down to the dark smooth look. I also sanded the metal corners& edges down to the bare metal. The metal was covered with rust before I started. With the recessed rivets, it gave it a nice look with the rust left around the rivits. This box is old& I don't know what it was originally used for. The metal underneath the box was rusted through on the corners but has no affect on the appearance as ... moreit doesn't show that much. I built a wood insert that fits inside the box then the two bowling alley style wood pieces fit on top& they are recessed down so they can't fall off. The insert& top are removeable for ease of moving. The box is fastened down to the wood top. The cast iron base is a very old DOMESTIC brand sewing machine base. There is a crack in the cross piece but years ago someone had repaired it giving it more character. I kept the original sewing maching top& refinished it. The top was said to have come out of an old farm corncrib. I gave the top stress marks and darkened them before I gave it three coats of spar finish. It's rather unique& probably not for everyone. My hobby is buying old items& fixing them up. I debated on keeping it but I have too many things already. It's heavy& I have a lot of time in it. THe piece is electric and has a hole for a crank. I plugged it in and the turntable did start to move. The console is a very neat art deco walnut piece. There are 2 drawers and two side doors for record storage. The piece needs work and for a collector this is a great find. The piece has a brass plate on the back that has a patent date of 1916 and a cabinet patent date of 1919. The model number is IJ250. THe piece is very heavy and is 46" long x 23" deep x 38" tall.
