This is an emerald green color. Which is not too light and not too dark. Somewhere in the middle of the green color scale, but some of my pictures came out showing the green as a little darker than it really is. I estimate that this vase is at least 90-100 years old, dating it to the art nouveau period. The silver overlay is very heavy and of fine quality. The silver is marked“Fine” and has the Alvin silver company mark on it. The vase stands about 4 inches tall with the top portion measuring about 1.5 inches in diameter and the bottom portion measuring about 2.5 inches in diameter. The interior of the vase has some water stains and grime. But not too much of it. Not sure if possible to clean, or maybe it can be cleaned with special cleaning instruments. There is normal shelf wear on the underside of the piece. The silver overlay appears 98-99% intact. There could be a few very small areas where there used to be silver overlay. But is no longer there. You can likely spot in my photos some small areas where there may be a missing piece of silver, but these areas are very small and minor. As for the glass, glass is in overall excellent shape, but on the top of the piece, there is about a 0.5 inch fracture in the glass, which was likely caused by a little dent made in the silver. I included some pictures where you can see this little silver dent and the fracture that showed up in the glass. You can’t feel this fracture in the glass from either the interior or exterior. This does not affect the visual integrity, structure, or well being of the piece. Overall. This is a high quality piece and would make a great addition to someone’s silver overlay collection. Up for bid is gorgeous antique professionally hand carved 3 panel walnut French screen/ room divider only. It is a 3 screen that used to have hinges but these were lost over the years& it has a thin coat of yellow paint. I've seen allot of French carved screens claiming to have the best carvings but they were not the crisp clean quality detail& quality workmanship as this one has when you look up close; even the flowers are great. As shown it was put together in sections or pieces& one part of front middle section near top needs re-glued& has a little chip of wood missing. I'm pressing together in picture to show what it will look like ... morewhen glued& you can see what it looks like in pics not pressed together. It still has it's original panel inserts that you attach fabric to& then fit into back side of screen sections& attach with thin little tacks or nails. These fabric insert pieces show quite a bit of wear from changing fabrics over the years& are free to winning buyer if interested. I would ly screen down& trace outline to make new inserts or use original inserts as a template to make new ones maybe even out of plexiglass? For as old as screen is it only has a few chipped areas mostly where fabric sections fit inside back. 1 little cracked spot on base& some where hinges attach as pictured. There is what looks like glue over& around screw holes where hinges attach. The carvings are as fancy at the bottom as they are at the top where usually it's just the top that's fancy. This beauty was my mothers& I have been storing it for years& want to find a home where it will be loved& displayed. Tallest middle section measures aprox. 6 feet 3 1/4 inches tall. AUTHENTIC OLD BEVELED MIRROR ART NOUVEAU ish * MOHAGNY FRAME ALL ORIGINAL GREAT
Not easy to take a flash or even a non flash photo of a mirror. And still show the bevel! It seems to always get the photographers' background in it, and that's NOT what I wanted to show! The glass is nearly like new, with just a bit of age showing. The deep bevel is not easy to photograph, so it doesn't show very well, but it is looking good! The total size is 16 3/4" on the wooden base, X 7 1/2" top to base. The mirror alone is approx. 12" wide by 5 1/2" and it fits very tight in the frame. It has NOT been taken out of the frame, just LEFT ALONE! The backing is original as well and weighs nearly 3 lbs. We SUPER pack everything we sale, and this mirror will get even more attention and care. It MAY have been from the back of a sheet music cabinet, or something else as small. But it does look great alone on ... morea wall, and brightens up a blah spot. Small enough to not take over a place in a hall, but still a bit of light and class! The last two strange photos, show the holes on the very bottom edge, and the very pretty top edge. The shape is rather art nouveau-ish, I think) but certainly NOT deco!
