1740'S QUEEN ANNE DOUBLE FAN CARVED CUBAN MAHOGANY HIGHBOY BASE CONVERTED INTO LOW BOY WITH PINCHED TOP- NEWPORT. RHODE ISLAND With our highest compliments we are delighted to offer you this fantastic solid Cuban mahogany 1740's Queen Anne Newport. R.I. Highboy base converted into a fabulous double fan carved Lowboy. This piece is in a great original finish and surface. Its added top is an 18th Century piece of matched Cuban mahogany with pinched carved corners. This Lowboy has a large top drawer and three lower drawers on its base tier. It stands on finely formed cabriolet legs flowing into gracefully carved pad feet. It has original downward pointing finials, fine Chippendale styled brasses and its legs roll over at the tops with Curly Q carvings on all the profiles of the base. We have just given this piece a light application ... moreof a feeding wax and it will be re-waxed and buffed prior to either shipping or delivering it to you. It has wonderful pegged fasteners and measures 35 1/2" long, 19" wide and 33" tall. This was made by a very highly skilled cabinet maker of the early 18th Century with well identifying Newport characteristics. The lack of the top chest leaves the maker's identification speculative but without a question simply a fabulous piece with a great look.
