This is an emerald green color. Which is not too light and not too dark. Somewhere in the middle of the green color scale, but some of my pictures came out showing the green as a little darker than it really is. I estimate that this vase is at least 90-100 years old, dating it to the art nouveau period. The silver overlay is very heavy and of fine quality. The silver is marked“Fine” and has the Alvin silver company mark on it. The vase stands about 4 inches tall with the top portion measuring about 1.5 inches in diameter and the bottom portion measuring about 2.5 inches in diameter. The interior of the vase has some water stains and grime. But not too much of it. Not sure if possible to clean, or maybe it can be cleaned with special cleaning instruments. There is normal shelf wear on the underside of the piece. The silver overlay appears 98-99% intact. There could be a few very small areas where there used to be silver overlay. But is no longer there. You can likely spot in my photos some small areas where there may be a missing piece of silver, but these areas are very small and minor. As for the glass, glass is in overall excellent shape, but on the top of the piece, there is about a 0.5 inch fracture in the glass, which was likely caused by a little dent made in the silver. I included some pictures where you can see this little silver dent and the fracture that showed up in the glass. You can’t feel this fracture in the glass from either the interior or exterior. This does not affect the visual integrity, structure, or well being of the piece. Overall. This is a high quality piece and would make a great addition to someone’s silver overlay collection. Vintage Tell City Chair Company 1776 Floral Pattern Hanging Wall Plaque A3701 Vintage Tell City Chair Company 1776 Floral Pattern Hanging Wall Plaque A3701 Here we have a vintage Tell City Chair Co. 1776 wall plaque. Featuring a floral pattern under the year"1776" The finish was Tell City's#63 Antique Brown, and the pattern is A3701. I've never seen another one of these. But I'm not a huge Tell City fountain of knowledge, either. In good overall condition for its' age(I would think this piece was probably made in the 60's or 70's) It does show some wear at the corners and edges. There is one larger scratch in the finish on the BACK of the plaque, beside the two mounting screws that hold the wood"handle" on the front of the plaque. Speaking of which. I've researched this piece, but have not been ... moreable to figure out what its' purpose was. Most Tell City wall plaques were actually candle sconces, but there is no place to"put" a candle on this piece. If you have more knowledge about this item, please drop me a line and let me know what this was really used for, or if it was purely and simply only for decoration. The plaque measures 25 inches long. 5 1/4 inches wide, and about 11/16" thick. The"handle" on the front. When viewed from the side, almost appears to be an elongated animal of some sort. There is even a hole going through the"head" that would appear to be in the right location to be an eye, but perhaps I'm just being anthropomorphic. Or, perhaps this is actually a coat or umbrella rack. Overall. This is a gorgeous piece of furniture that needs a new home- it won't fit in with my own home decor. Antique folding painting, artist's easel on rolling stand, plein air painting
This is an antique artist's tripod easel which has its own rolling stand. Both the easel and the stand completely fold up so they can be carried outdoors for painting en plein air. The easel is lacking the little shelf which supports the canvas. It would require reinforcement before it is ready for use in the field. This is reported to have been used by the Old Lyme colony of American Impressionists in the early 1900s. I do not have any documentation of this. But it came from an estate sale in the area. This is as set of vintage antique card catalogs. I am a teacher at a Chicagoland elementary school and we were cleaning the attic out. I grabbed these with the intention of making a piece of cool furniture out of them. But just don't have the time. My guess is these are from the 70's. This is a really handsome civil war era sloped field desk. It was given as a gift to a doctor in the near past and the brass plate is on the top. This could easily be replaced Measures 20" across. I am selling one of my treasures. A Scandinavian spinning wheel. Designed and crafted by O. Trageton, a Norwegian who lived from 1845 to 1915. He never immigrated to this country, but many of his wheels did. Because the signature was so clear, I assumed that it would be a simple matter to find out all about the maker, but it wasn’t. A prominent spinning wheel expert knew only that O.Trageton made spinning wheels, and nothing more. A lady in California referred me to the University Of North Dakota Research Library Archives, and a very helpful archivist found four pages of material on Trageton, all in Norwegian. He in turn referred me to a translator. That translation, which cost me $75.00, will be shipped with the wheel. The wheel is about 36” high and long, and the drive wheel is 24+ inches. I did nothing but clean the wood. I have never ... morehad to adjust the tilt. So the fact that the distal end of the front screw adjuster is missing, has not caused any problems for me. My wife is able to spin on this wheel, as shown in the video. Keep two things in mind for spinning on this wheel: it will not spin like a new modern wheel BUT this wheel has pin& socket contacts on the drive wheel and flyer/bobbin, which makes it as close to a modern wheel as you can get; every wheel new or antique needs to be used for a period of time before optimal yarn is spun. We have this stunning. Antique room divider or folding screen. It's hand painted. Oil on canvas, was painted by Maude Ethelyn Black. She was born in Everett, Mass in 1880 and lived to be 100. The measurements are: 63" h x 63" w x 3/4" thick frame Oil painted on canvas Each canvas is 16" w x 50" tall The spindles in each frame are 3 3/8" h. The space with each spindle is 16" w. The routed area goes the entire height by 7/8" wide The frame is 2 3/8's wide x 3/4" thick. It's a 3 panel door divider Each door panel with the canvas is 20 3/4" w with brass hinges Has a 1" high foot on each panel.
