Collectible Tile Here is an interesting.Vintage Tile.that comes from my personal collection. I have no idea about its origins.but it reminds me a lot of the decorative Mexican Tile.from years gone by. The piece is filled with rich colors and design.similar to artwork found in the earlier part of the 1900's. Wish I had a better idea.as to the true age. The tile is about 1/4 of an inch thick and would remind one of a Bathroom Tile. It is white to the backside. The tile is glazed to the top side.and measures about 6 inches across. There is some age crazing in the glaze. It looks like someone has retro fitted the item.to be a trivet or a wall hanging. Stunning antique Victorian pressed Majolica ceramic tile of leaves and flowing scrollwork in rich caramel browns. Circa; early 1900’s. In good condition with a beautiful gloss finish. The tile has a few small chips along the edges and minute chips on a few of the raised surfaces. Beautiful depth of rich color and detail overall. Wonderful E arly 1 9c Josiah Wedgwood Etruria Tiles.Five(5) amazing thick tiles that were in an antique cast iron fireplace surround. Cream colored background with deep. Deep blue berries and dark and light blue leaves. Th ei r true vibrant colors don't really show in these photos. But they are brilliant. They show their age with a bit of discoloration around the edges from being in a cast iron firepl ace.I did not want to bleach them. But I am sure it could be done. I think high volume peroxide is the thing to use. They measures 6" square and a a bit more than 1/3" thic k. Minimal chips that could grouted out with no problem. I am offering on Buy It Now an antique tile from Mintons China Works. This very rare find from circa 1875 consists of a cobalt and white tile from the Mohr Smith Industrial Series from Stoke on Trent. England. The tile measures 6" X 6" and 1/2" thick. This tile depicts a Barber at work shaving his client with an ancient Grecian background. He looks like a strong layman with the tools of his trade. The scene is very detailed and there is old English writing saying Barber. I have noted that this tile edge rubbing and tiny edge chips as seen in the pictures. This tile is marked on the back and has cement residue from use along with an edge chip. The tile is in good condition and it is rare. Claycraft Potteries. Los Angeles, CA 1921-1939 This vintage keystone tile was originally made to be the center tile in a fireplace surround. Most likely it originally has Claycraft's matte glazes, but it appears that it's been coated with a glossy finish at some point in its long life. Nice aged patina on this attractive wreath tile.
