Blues and greens. Thin strips of ceramic in the same color palette adorn the sides and back of each lamp. The painterly and enchanted luminous quality of the tiles are reminiscent of Chagall's celebrated stained glass windows. The exaggerated verticality of the lamps underline a modernist skyscraper dimension. These lamps are in very good vintage condition with no cracks. Chips or stains. They have minor wear and there is some crazing on the textured tiles, commensurate with age. There is a tiny sliver of wood missing from one base on the bottom right, and there are a few nicks/scratches throughout, otherwise no damage. The colors remain vibrant and the wood still retains its rich brown color. They work. But as with all vintage wiring, we recommend checking and updating the wiring if necessary. This auction is for a set of 2 mid century concurrent art tiles by Harris Strong. Depicts a small pier scene with several sailboats docked. Each tile measures approximately 6" x 6" Framed it measures 17.5" L x 11.5" W. The frame is wood and linen and in fair shape showing signs of age. This auction contains an outstanding piece of high fired hand painted ceramic tiles by a well known artist. Harris G. Strong. There are 12 painted 6 x 6 tiles, making the actual piece approximately 36 x 12. I have looked over the tiles carefully and I do not see any cracks. The piece itself is in excellent condition, the only thing needed to be done is to either try to clean the cloth border or have it redone as it is quite dirty since this is a mid-century piece. Please note that this piece is for local pickup only as there is too risky to ship a piece like this. Please do not ask to ship. I have started the bidding at a reasonable price for a 12 tile piece.

Vintage Harris Strong Regency Luxe Framed And Matted Tiles
Interesting pair of framed white tiles by the noted mid century artist Harris Strong…Each frame measures 13" by 11" and the white relief tiles are dramatically matted 7 times with a forest green matte…The tiles are interesting. I have never seen this sort of thing done by Strong who worked in vivid colors a lot of the time…These are very fancy looking bisque white, a tree on one and the other is floral.I could probably tell what flower if I wasn't useless as an arborist…Tiles are in good shape and each is about 3" long and 1 1/2" wide…Each is marked with the Harris Strong sticker on the back as shown…Not sure if he did these or just sold them, maybe he just liked them…They have kind of an Asian look to them and appear to be circa 1970's to me…Hopefully a nice find for the right collector out there…Buyer pays 16.00 ... moreshipped USA lower 48

Set of 3 Framed Harris Strong 1955 Roman Greek Framed Tiles 12 x 12 Bronx, NY
Up for bid is a set of three pictures that look sort of Roman or Grecian. I don't think these are ceramic tiles. They aren't very heavy and they feel more like wood. On the back of one of the pictures is a sticker that says Hand Crafted by Harris G Strong Bronx 55 NY. It is only on one of the three pictures. There is some wear on the edges of some of the tiles. The other pictures are numbered 13. 14, and 10. I don't know if there were other pieces to this set. The frames measure 12 x 12, and the tiles measure 6 1/2 x 6 1/2. They sit on a rust colored velvet. Really interesting and rare pieces. Great New York estate sale find. Shipping includes insurance. Purchased in an Estate Sale. Email me with any questions.
