This is a ceramic tea light warmer/stove made by Tichelaar Makkum in The Netherlands. The item stands 10 cm tall and 13 cm wide. 2.5 cm is 1 inch) I am not an expert in this field. But this piece appears to be in very good condition, especially considering that by all accounts and research, this piece appears to be quite old(antique) There are no visible chips, and there are no visible restorations. We present an original Dutch Delft Blue tile from Holland. It depicts a foot soldier. Or aristocrat. Nicely glazed surface. The clay is coarse and porous with a lot of mica(sparkling inclusions) There is a little crazing. There a few minor flea bites around the edges and a chipped corner(upper right) On the whole. The tile is in a remarkably good pre-owned condition! There are no breakages. Or cracks that run through the fired clay. The tile is not stamped. But it bears a striking resemblance to two tiles by Tichelaar Makkum, that are listed separately. It dates prior to 1974. Please study the photos carefully before bidding. Antique Delft/ Dutch Tichelaar Makkum Blue and White Pottery Cup
Antique Dutch Delft/ Tichelaar Makkum Blue and White Pottery Cup Up for sale is a very old and pretty piece of Delft-style pottery. It is unmarked. But is eit h er old Delft or was produced by the Tichelaar factory in Makkum. The Netherlands. This factory is over 400 years old, and is the oldest continually operating company in the Netherlands. Ten generations of this family have run the Makkum factory. I suspect it is Makkum. Their process differs from Delft in that with their technique the painting is done on the glaze. So then the pictures"flow" somewhat into the glaze during the baking process. It is blue painting with cobalt oxide, and because of the fusion with the underlying glaze, produces an especially brilliant blue design. Each piece is entirely handpainted. This piece measures 2 7/8 inches high. And is about 4 inches ... morein diameter at its mouth. It has a flora l or lily pond scene on the inside bottom. The piece is in very good antique condition. I have noted a little rough edge on a very small spot on the rim. There are no cracks or crazing on the piece. I pack very carefully-see my feedback. This item will be shipped insured. nbspA very pretty Polychrome Tile measuring 5 x 5 hand painted by the Makkum Tichelaar Co in Holland and is called a Polychrome Tile. It has the Sparkling Mica in the clay you can see on the back of the tile( had to take it off and then reglue it back on to get the backmark) I am not sure of the age as I don't know how to date the tiles. Tichelaar Makkum Dutch Tiles - lot of 2- windmill and drumming man
2 Dutch Blue Tiles by TICHELAAR MAKKUM 1. Windmill 2. Drumming man each are 5 x 5 inches& 3/8 of an inch thick From my research these tiles were manufactured by Tichelaar Makkum; one of the oldest Dutch pottery factories in Holland. The tiles are stamped with the 2 crossed Ts- the windmill tile has a 4 to the left and a G1 to the right. The drumming man tile has a 3 to the Left and a G1 to the right. Nicely glazed surfaces. The backgrounds are off white with a bluish tint. There are chips around the edges. No cracks or crazing that I can find. Took a lot of photos to show condition. The windmill tile has the bigger black marks on back.
