MidCentury Hand-Painted Delft Blue Windmill & Harvest Dutch Holland Ceramic Tile
5.25" by 5.25" size square tile of 1/4" thickness. It dates back to middle 20th century. The original hook was removed from the back of the tile. This can be used as a wall decoration. Trivet or in a mosaic. There is a chip on the back the corner of the tile. Which does not affect the front of the tile(as shown in photo#4) The photo is quite enlarged- kind of like viewing the tile under a microscope. The true size of the chip is 1/4" by 1/4" Please see my other Blue Delft items. Purchasing 2 or more items at the same time will cut the shipping charges drastically.

We present an original Dutch Delft Blue tile from Holland. It depicts a view of Dutch rural countryside: a windmill amongst a farmstead. Nicely glazed surface. The clay is coarse and porous with a lot of mica(sparkling inclusions) There is no crazing. The surface has several miniscule glaze bubbles(blisters) On the whole. The tile is in a remarkably good pre-owned condition! There are no breakages. Or cracks that run through the fired clay, no chips, but only one small flake at the lower right corner(not visible on the surface) The tile is not stamped. But it bears a striking resemblance to two tiles by Tichelaar Makkum, that are listed separately. It dates prior to 1974. PLEASE NOTE THE SIZE. It ... moreis 3 X 3 inches and not 4 X4. This is a canal scene featuring water. A man in a boat, bull rushes, a country manor, storage or silo bin, windmill, birds, trees and another building in the distance. I don't believe this has to necessarily stay in its gold-colored twisted frame and believe it would make a beautiful tile on it own as a centerpiece for a tile mural. There is one tiny chip on the front on the bottom edge just left of center and another on the back side just left of the right-hand corner. This one is not visible from the front. Using the term"mint" is risky. HOWEVER,I'll say pristine is an understatement, with absolutely no flaws to the face or edges(a smudge on the clay underneath) From what I gathered, this cloisonne' Delft tile was made in the 20's to 30's(any knowledge from an expert would be welcome) by the De Porceleyne Fles Delft Pottery, and it is stamped on the back with an early mark and it has holes through the back and top for hanging. Done in an Arts& Crafts style, it measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Shipping includes tracking.

This is a hand-painted framed Dutch tile. The entire piece is 4-7/8" square and the tile is approximately 3" square. It is signed with what looks like J. Gids. It features a traditional image of windmills and houses. The paint is cracked. There are three tiny round dots of paint that has flaked off- these appear as three white dots in the photos. The black lacquer frame has some very minimal signs of wear. But, overall is in good condition. It is covered in the back with black paper. There is a paper Made in Holland label on the back. Tile is 6" X 6" Has a hand stamp on the back of the letter G surrounded by something that looks alike a wreath. On the back it says: Hand Painted Delfts HOLLAND Tile has picture of windmills in front of the shore. Painted in blue and white. If you look very closely at tile you can begin to see hairline cracks because of the age of the piece. Still in beautiful condition
