Vtg Signed French Sevres Hand Painted Porcelain Floral 1930s~22"~Lamp Ormalu
Vtg Signed French Sevres Porcelain Hand Painted Floral~22"~Lamp heavy gold accents Offering this absolutely stunning old French Hand Painted porcelain Floral 22" tall electric Lamp with frosted glass shade and round etched glass"bulb" shade loaded with gold ormalu trim and very ornate base. I have researched the mark and I do believe it is from Sevres or Vincennes. See photos of the bottom of lamp to see the deep cobalt blue mark plus the words"modele et de'coration exclive a'la main" Which is difficult to see clearly because of the base of the lamp support. Two of those supports are embossed"B7" and"B15" which shows in the photos. Base also has a blue decal that reads"Underwriters Laboratories. Inc. Listed Portable Lamp issue no. 89,632" Please take time to view the photos ... moreto appreciate the highly detail decoration on this beautiful lamp which I would call in excellent condition. The floral design is perfect, it was fired on and then I believe glazed so it has maintained its quality. The gold is very strong on both the metal fret work at the top, the embossed gold floral vines and blossoms on the ring that the round shade rests upon is very nice, all the gold trim on the lamp base is perfect, and the scroll base remains rich with gold. I believe the lamp was made in the 1930-40 Era because of the cord with a on/off switch. One side reads"und. lab inc. list" other side reads"Levitron 6A 125 v. 3A.250 v. 3A.125 VT and works. Cord is in very good condition. Is not dry nor cracking. The bulb housing however is made for a thin base or candelabra base bulb and that area or the pit the bulb base come out of is the only part of the lamp that is discolored with dark marks and looks like there is some wear from the round shade which is held in place by a tongue dispenser like thin metal on each side that must be pinched together to get the shade in place and the reverse to remove the glass shade so the shade sets very secure on the lamp. VTG Pair French Styled Gold Gilt Putti Cherub Lamps W/Shade Marble & Crystal
These are a vintage pair of marble based putti cherub lamps. They are gold& silver gilt with a large crystal on them. They have the original shades, the shades are still covered in plastic so most of the dirt you see in the pictures are on the plastic. They are in very good condition, however there is some discoloration on the silver on the lamps and the shades some areas of the bottom part the wire has rubbed thru. They measure 22" to the top of the shade, 15" to the top of the light socket, the marble base is 4" by 4" and is 7/8" thick. Shades are 9 1/2" tall and are 8" wide at base by 7" at top, shades attach to lamps with light bulbs. Lamps do not come with light bulbs they are in pictures for shade pictures only sorry. They are fully functional as shown in photos. Although one has a temperamental switch that likes to be"just so" when turned on. Absolutely gorgeous when you see them- soft turquoise-blue and fawn tan porcelain base is accented in pinks and all-over gold gilt and European wildflowers. Tulips, jonquils, tiny roses, etc. There are tiny little raised white accents within the flowers, decorating the stamen and the rough open edges of some flowers, kind of pate sur pate. There is faint crazing that is not visible unless you're really determined to find it. The gold gilt is 95% present, with just a bit of rubbing-off of the gilt on the handles. I have been able to discover NO chips, cracks, nicks or repairs of any kind. The handpainted patterns are repeated on both sides of the vase forms. French Bouillotte Regency Desk Lamp Eagle Adorned VTG Tole Shade High Quality
This lamp is in very good condition for its age. French empire style desk lamp topped with an eagle. The size is 26.5 inches from the base to the top of the shade and 17 inches wide from outside of shade to outside of shade. Beautiful patina on the brass and no dents or dings on the shades. The shades are metal and the tole guild is in excellent condition with very little loss. I recently noticed that there had been a scratch on one shade that was touched up with paint; it does not show up in pictures. I have had the lamp for a long time and only noticed it while dusting. So as it is not very noticeable it is there. There is tarnishing on the brass which gives it an aged patina. The lamps electrical works perfectly. This is most likely 1950-1960 manufacturer most likely E. F.Chapman Co. But not marked. Keep in mind this is a vintage lamp ... morewhich always have some imperfections. This is a bouillotte lamp with two large candlestick sockets under a single, tole shade. The shade is metal with an antiqued, golden color with an accent band of gold around the upper and lower perimeters. The lamp has an acorn finial and an arrow adjustment. The lamp is not marked but is of very nice quality. It is in good condition with only minor evidence of age or use. There is some minor scuffing to the finish in a couple of areas, but nothing severe or distracting. These can be easily resolved. The wiring is vintage but was updated at some point. Here I have for your consideration a gorgeous. Antique French Opalescent Fenton Glass chandelier or swag lamp. The pattern is Coin Dot, also known as Thousand Eyes because when you look into an"eye" you see 1000. The opalescence is stunning, almost transparent. True artwork. The lamp is 39-40 inches from the ceiling plate to the finial at the bottom. This brass toned part is seen in the second photo. I will put this lamp together for you in photos. The second photo is with the font inside the metal framing, the font is 4" tall and 12" around at the widest. There is a night light bulb housing inside the font. Next is placing the shade into the frame, I had to do this extra carefully for my photos because I was by myself. This is why the chain is touching the shade in photos# 4& 5 and where the lamp looks slightly crooked. ... moreThe shade is 8" tall, 6"6 1/2" across the ruffled top, it is 10" across the base. The wiring is cloth covered, definitely needs replaced to make it safe to use, see photo# 10. The cloth covering is off one of the wires all together, it was dry and just crumbled off. Once rewired this lamp would be more fabulous than imaginable, all those artistic dots with tons of opalescence. It could even be put on a dimmer! So you could remove the brass base, if desired, and run wire through hole. ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT. Electric fixtures. Cord, and harps are ALL NEW: rewired for modern 3-way light bulbs Size(approximate) 15-1/2" to top of lamp body- 19" to top of light-bulb socket- 27" to top of harp finial(Removing brass base would make the lamp 1.5" shorter. ... moreLamp body is about 5-1/4" diameter at widest point. Electric components have been rewired(not original) All working- with 3-way bulbs(not included) There is a small ding in one lamp's brass base. This is easily repairable. Since the base can be removed from the lamp(one nut) and the dented spot is accessible. Speaking of the brass bases. They have not recently been polished, so there is some vintage patina. if you're looking for that as a feature. PLEASE NOTE: I am not an expert with this style of lamp artwork. First. I see some attrition(rub-off) of the gold leaf, revealing white underneath. But interestingly enough, it's limited to the side handles- not anywhere else on the lamp. So my opinion is that this attrition was done intentionally. For effect. not by careless cleaning.
