Actual age unknown. ... moreA guess would put it early 1900's. Brass U-shaped nails hold the banding tight, and there are no loose slats. Nice patina on the finished outside, with a few scuffs and scratches from use. Wooden pegs surround small iron fasteners, keeping the bent wood handle on and allowing it to swing. Small dent in dead center of the underside indicates that a compass-like device was used to trace out and cut a perfect circle for the bottom. No lid. There are no marking of any kind to indicate maker or age. Inside of bucket is unfinished wood, but rather smooth, a bit dusty. Please study pictures. A MUST HAVE for any primitive decorated home! Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Hanging Minor Man Lamp World War II Era
This is a vintage hand carved wooden hanging light of a minor man holding a lamp. Wearing an old german outfit called a"Lederhosen" singular: Lederhose) are breeches with shoulder straps made of leather and are the traditional clothe of Bavaria. He can be hung by the attached rope which is 6 feet long and the cord is close to 11 feet long. The lamp works flawlessly. The lamp looks to be handmade as well. It's paneled with old glass of a dark red to ruby in color. Estimated to date around the end of the World War II Era up to the mid 60's. This is a rare lamp you won't find another one. I have only seen 2 of these ever. This one and another similar one found a year ago on the internet. They seem utterly impossible to find. If you find another I will consider matching or beating there price.

This is quite a RARE and very unusual Brutalist piece of period lighting. In that it's constructed with found, irregular wooden blocks and not made from torched steel, as is found on many other Brutalist pieces of the Modernist period of design. Oversized Vintage Lamp with Wooden Shade from Mexico
This large. Heavy lamp is approximately 47" high and about 17" in diameter at the widest point. The shade is made of thin pieces of wood, woven into the pattern you see in the photos. The lining inside the shade has some cracks and tears, but the outside is in very good condition for its age. The finial is red glass. The lamp is decorated with diamond shapes. This nostalgic work of art was purchased in Mexico in the 1970's. The 1970's colors of beiges, oranges and browns secure this to its era. TALL VINTAGE PORCELAIN DRESDEN STYLE URN FORM LAMP MOUNTED ON STABLE WOODEN BASE
Tall. With nice proportions, very decorative porcelain lamp in working order of European origin, probably from Germany. Decorated on the front and back with two similar floral vignettes(the front more elaborate, framed with gilt scrolls) gilt side handles with lion heads and domed top. Previously an urn, more recently mounted as lamp, on a wide wooden stable base painted and embossed to match the floral design and scrolls of the urn. It is impossible to determine with any certainty the origin of the urn without taking the lamp apart to see the porcelain marks. The shape of the urn with narrow neck and wide body lead me to think that it could be Dresden porcelain. The brass finial has a removable green stone which looks like pale jade and may have been added/replaced later. The lamp is offered for sale with harp and finial but WITHOUT the ... morelampshade. The lampshade is old and frail. It incurred a small tear(less then 1" long) to the lining when I took it off for taking the photographs. It could be used"as is" I took the 1st photo with the shade after the tear occurred) but it should be recovered with a new fabric soon. If the buyer would like the lampshade"as is" it is free of charge, just for the price of shipping. It would have to be shipped as a separate package at buyers risk& expense. This lamp has a nicely detailed wood column supporting an amber glass lantern with a wooden frame. The lamps have brass accents on the top and the bottom. The lamps have 3 settings: top bulb on. Bottom bulb on, and both on. The one glass panel does slide out to access the inside bulb shown in puctures. The Lamp measures 22" to the top of the wood and 32" to the top of the whole lamp where shade attaches. The wood part does show some signs of wear, a few nicks. Could cover up with some old english.
