Vintage Colonial American Gold & Brass Tone Tin Sconce Lot Of 6 Old
Hello. For auction is the as photoed lot of 6 sconces. The backs are 4"x6" large. The 2 on top& bottom to the left are the only ones with external switch knobs. Center to center holes is 5¼ inches. I do not believe these are brass. I believe these are tin with gold tone. Unpainted. The wiring is old cloth chord. The insulators on the sockets say American 8683 660W 250V. I have not cleaned on these any. No damage that i see. Only tightening up etc for use. There is paint on a couple lightly on the edges. Vintage Victorian china lamp by Devereaux, Beautiful Colonial couple LQQK
You are bidding on a beautiful Vintage Devereaux lamp. The colors are green and white. The lamp with the shade on stands about 28 inches tall. The ceramic portion of the lamp is approximately 14 inches high and 9 inches wide. I did read online that the gold on this brand of lamp is 22 karat. Very nice piece. Purchased at an estate sale. So I don't know much about it's history. It is a working lamp. The lamp itself has only one small flaw, where the handle meets the base, there is a small hole. I took a picture of it, but you have to be looking for it to see it. It looks like there may have been an air bubble in the glaze when the piece was fired. Other than that, there are no chips or cracks. Everything looks to be really good shape. I'm also not sure if the hardware for the lamp is original, as it is silver and the clamp that ... moreholds the lamp shade is brass. The lamp shade itself is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There are however some small brownish spots here and there on the shade. They don't stand out but they are visible in the right light. The lamp and shade will most likely be mailed in two separate boxes to keep the shade from getting damaged during shipping. Here is a lovely pair of vintage lamps with colonial dressed figures of a man and a woman. They are unmarked so I do not know the maker. Please note the delicate features of the figures and the pretty gold colored trim on the bases directly under their feet. They do both work but if you are going to use them rather than just display them. You may want to replace the cords as they appear to be the original ones without the safety type plug-ins. Size: 12 1/2" tall. 3 1/2" diameter base, figures are 7 1/4" tall from the tops of the metal bases to the tops of their heads. Condition: Very nice for their age. Both lamps are working. I replaced the electrical component on one but not the other. I assume the other light bulb socket had been replaced before as they were not the same. The cords are not new but seem to be in good working order. The lamps themselves are full of color and in good condition. Free of any chips or cracks they really look like a nice matching pair. I can see a little browning underneath the glazing on both lamps. I kept trying to clean it off with a Windex soaked Q-tip and have determined it is not on the surface but underneath.
