The lamp retains an old chippy silver painted base that the brass shows through and looks great. The bare steel parabolic shade is 6 1/2" in diameter and has the Faries name embossed. Used. Very used. Shows age. Wear, tear, scratches, dents, dings, discoloration, rust, etc. You name it and it's here. Shade has marking that says Patent Nov. 10, 1908. Black plastic light switch says Hubbell. Bottom/sides, etc. I could not find any other markings. I believe the lamp is made of brass& the bottom piece is cast iron(this thing is heavy) Bottom twisted rope area is where cord goes into lamp. The top area is the movable gooseneck. Two areas will come apart- they fit together. It appears someone rewired at some point- the cord looks too new. I do not know if the lamp works- I did not feel safe plugging it in. The last time I tried a lamp that I did not feel safe plugging in- I plugged in anyway. Regardless to say that did not go well- so I am not taking the chance with this lamp. Offered is a Dazor articulating drafting type lamp. Model 2124. The bronze tone surface is in fair condition for its age and exhibits the great"patina" that is accepted in vintage industrial goods. There are some slight areas of surface rust that can be cleaned up a bit if you are bothered by them. This lamp simply exhibits all that you expect from an item used for decades in an industrial environment. The lamp works well and is ready to mount and use. The shade is very high quality and has ground edges and is quite heavy and has a great glow when the lamp is on. Large Vintage Art Deco Light Globe White Milk Glass Shade. About 14" in diameter with a 9+" drop(top of fixture to bottom) I measure the fitter at 5 7/8" to the outside edges. Vintage Antique Brass Industrial Faries Wall Lamp Sconce Machine Age Light
For your consideration is an early"FARIES" adjustable wall lamp. The wall base is 5" in diameter and the lamp adjust from out to 20" in length. Including the shade. The new spun brass shade is 5 1/2" in diameter. The shade is held in place with a 2 1/4" fitter with a 1920 patent date. The paddle switch socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The lamp has new wiring, enough to hard wire into your location. The lamp has light scratches and wear, adding to the character of the piece. The lamp is estate fresh and comes to you as shown. Vintage Antique Industrial Faries Brass Lamp Machine Age Light Hubbell Shade
For your consideration is an early FARIES style(unmarked) adjustable lamp. The cast iron tripod base allows the lamp to set on a flat surface or be hung by the tab leg on the wall. Just above the base(see close up in the last photo) there is solder residue on the brass tubing. There was a small brass decorative but was badly crumpled that I removed. Thus the reason for the silver coloration in this area. The lamp adjust from 17 1/2" 22" in height. The upper section of lamp tubing does have small indentations were the set screw has been set to hold the height. The antique"HUBBELL" parabolic shade is 6 3/4" in diameter and retains its original green paint. The shade is slightly out of round and has very small dings here and there. The"BRYANT" paddle switch socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) ... moreThe lamp has new 18 gauge cloth covered wiring and an old fashioned two prong plug. Unique Industrial Machine Age Vintage Light Table Lamp Steampunk Art Old Antique
This is a really neat light. It was originally a portable tanning lamp made in the 50's and 60's by Sperti. But it has been retrofit with a vintage light socket and 25 watt amber bulb so it can be enjoyed as a table lamp. It has the original braided cord with hooks to roll it up and folds in half for easy storage, which also makes it easily portable. It utilizes one of the original toggle switches as the on/off switch and the other is just for character. It makes the perfect night stand or desk lamp because it has the bottom tray for housing your spare change. Industrial Vintage antique wooden shoe mold table lamp metal , upcycled
Now this is one real showpiece of a lamp! I call this antique style meets industrial! A really nice lamp made from an actual wooden shoe form and the shade is made from recycled metal. Painted green and chipped away at. This lamp would look perfect with an Edison bulb- 60 watt max. The lamp is 15" tall. I could see this lamp in an Urban Loft, Shoe store, on on a library desk.
