Large Figural Silver French Art Nouveau Victorian Newel Table Lamp Jewel Shades
Offered for your consideration is a fine silvered metal newel or table lamp formed by an art nouveau lady in a dramatic pose atop a graduated black marble plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter. Due to the weight, but perhaps it's pewter. The lamp is about 40" high by 18" wide and has three attached hammered silver shades with crimson red jeweled medallions at the tops and beautiful beaded fringe around the lower rims composed of a mixture of clear and red beads. The shades are suspended from typically Jugendstil whiplash floral sprays. The piece is in remarkably good condition; I see no evidence of cracks or repairs. The beaded fringe on the shades is completely intact, with no missing strands I can see. The silver plating is still very presentable, although of course there are some signs of wear, likely the result ... moreof a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. I have not polished the lamp in the years I've owned it, as I liked the patina. The pictures make the lamp appear slightly more golden than it looks in person. That is probably because the reflective surface is picking up the color from the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms where I took the pictures. The wiring was updated/replaced at some point and is fine, as-is. I have been using it without fear or problems. If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. Returns, however, will not be accepted, due to the high costs(and risk of damage) incurred when shipping fragile valuable items back and forth. The lamp is quite heavy and I'm not sure how much it will cost to ship. Once it's been carefully packed for shipment. Old Antique Spelter Figural Statue Lamp Victorian Style Lady Woman Girl Light A nice old vintage Spelter metal lamp. It is a nice figural lamp with a statue of a woman. The lamp has a nice elegant Victorian style. It has some wear from age and use and some losses to the original painted finish. It measures about 1 foot 4 inches high. The shade for the lighted portion would need to be about 2 and 1/2 inches across. I would date the lamp to be 55 +/ years old(dated on the underside of the base see photos) I ma not sure. Monumental Victorian Nouveau Bronze Patinated Spelter Figural Lady Newel Lamp
Offered for your consideration is a very large newel lamp of the finest quality formed by a neoclassical art nouveau lady lifting a vessel atop her head. From which 5 vines emerge with lighted flowers at their tips. She stands on a black wooden plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter, due to the weight, but perhaps it's bronze. The lamp is monumental in size, about 50 1/2" high by 16" wide. The piece is in remarkably good condition. It looks like portions of some leaves may be missing on the vines and around the sockets at the top. The only other possible flaw I see is a line across the base of the woman's toes on her left proper foot where they join her draped robe/gown. It may have been there from the time of casting. As it shows evidence of age. The wooden base shows a line from shrinkage over time, but is still ... morecompletely stable. The patination is lovely, with only minimal signs of wear, likely the result of a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. The wiring was recently professionally updated/replaced with fine silk cord and a new plug. I do not believe that the lamp originally had coordinating shades. Per se; I suspect that regular light bulbs were used. As its purpose was to provide useful illumination. Alternatively, a variety of old and reproduction bulbs& bulb covers are available from various sources, if you do not already have them and care for that"look" If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. Returns, however, will not be accepted, due to the high costs(and risk of damage) incurred when shipping fragile valuable items back and forth. Spelter Victorian Nouveau Figural Boy Lamp - A Great Find!
FEATURED IS A SOUGHT-AFTER Antique Figural Spelter Table Lamp Victorian Child Boy Walking/ Strolling Art Nouveau- An original Victorian piece Measures 20 1/2 inches tall. The base diameter is 4 1/2 inches. The open top globe diameter is 4 inches. This is a beautiful antique figural lamp of a young boy who is very similar in appearance to"Blue Boy" The glass shade has a satin or frosted finish. Very smooth great quality, there are starburst and a floral designs either cut or etched into the glass. There are a few small chips around the fitter end which would not be evident when the shade is on the lamp. The fitter size of the shade is 3 1/8" The total height of the lamp(including the shade) is approx. 23" The overall appearance of the boy is very good. Though there are some condition issues, the boy's leg has been repaired ... moreand there are a few small patches showing on the inside of the metal base(they are not noticeable from the outside) His nose is dented a little as well, so this is not a perfect piece. But none of the imperfections interfere with the overall appearance of this beautiful Victorian lamp. The original cloth covered cord has had a more recent cord attached near the base of the lamp. There is black electrical tape around it. The lamp has a pull chain for turning off or on. The lamp is working excellent. This is a beautiful lamp that is able to be used as a table lamp or a newel post lamp. It has stood for over a hundred years in a Minneapolis mansion as a newel post lamp at the foot of the main staircase. It truly is from the gas light era and is indeed a gas lamp. The figure is that of a patriot complete with the proper hat and musket. It is undamaged and the shade when lighted is magnificent. What a perfect lamp for a period restoration. Etc. Antique 1890–1910 Victorian Spelter pot metal Art Nouveau figural Lamp
Antique Ornate Spelter pot metal Art Nouveau Figural Table Lamp w/ Original OVAL Shade black with gold foil- circa 19th Century. This piece was in the lobby of an old New England hotel near BackBay Boston. There are Figures of boy and man going hunting or to work in the field- unique oval ring of a grape trellis hangs over head of the boy and man standing next to a fence- this grape trellis is just below the old socket with turn-click switch. Which may have been replaced over the years. Turns on/off and works fine with a standard bulb. I would not use more than a 60 watt bulb or less because this is an OLD LAMP! Dates sometime from the late 1800's(circa 19th c. This lamp was acquired from an Estate in Massachusetts from a couple that had an amazing collection of antiques. This old lamp stands 25" tall and original matte-black inner ... moregold foil shade measures about 33" around and it is scuffed with a few dimples but still nice for display/use(I believe) The shade is a little more than 8" tall and 13" across by 7" wide. antique ornate Victorian silverplated bronze figural 1800 oil table parlor lamp
This is a stunningly rare antique 19th century Victorian silver-plated bronze oil parlor lamp. It is made with an abundance of very intricate ornate detailing and is a very high quality lamp. it is made from a bronze with a silver-plated finish which has acquired a patina from age. it is beautifully footed with very intricate legs and has beautiful trim wrapping the whole body done in high relief. the two large handles have demonic faces on the tops and double ball ends. there are also two very detailed embossed scenes of winged cherubs riding deer on each side. it has the original silver-plated font which is equally as ornate with embossed stylized detailing. it has a burner with a circular wick inside and works nicely. the burner has a 3 armed mount which holds the large thick milk glass shade. the shade is a heavy piece and has many detailed ... morespread winged bald eagles done in high relief. it has a wavy rim at the top and has a clear glass flute shade on tyne inside. the lamp is in nice antique condition and measures 16 1/2 inches tall by 10 3/4 inches wide. very high quality lamp.
