The lid is really a work of art. The silver plate is in very condition with normal wear for a piece dating from the 1880's. I do not believe the fork is original to the pickle jar. It has a lovely flower and is stamped Reed & Barton. The pickle castor measures 7 1/4" tall up to top of handle. The jar is approximately 4" in diameter. Large Victorian Frilled Cranberry Glass Oil Lamp Shade Here is a nice example of a late Victorian cranberry glass oil lamp shade which has quilted decoration to the sides and an attractive frilled rim. It stands 8.375 inches high and measures 9.875 inches wide across the frilled rim and 5.5 inches in diameter across the base. For accuracy there are several tiny specks within the glass and one tiny rough speck on the rim. All of which have occurred during manufacture and in no way detract. There are no chips or cracks and the cranberry colour is strong. The unpacked weight of this shade is only 725 grams but it will need to be packed into a large box to ensure it being safe during transit. International Buyers please email me for a shipping quote. Shaded cranberry glass shade with a stunning Art Nouveau repeat pattern design to the main body. The moulding to the glass is exquisite at the bottom of the shade are two rows of internal convex circles. Above this the internal moulding appears to be in vertical segments following the shape of the shade. At the same time these are interspersed by clam shell type decoration coming down from the top apperture, really hard to explain and even harder to photograph! However the overall effect is very fluid and delightful in its design. It stands approximately 18.5cm high. The apperture of the base is 10.1cm. A 4" fitter. This is a beautiful acid etched crystal glass shade tapering into a beautiful deep cranberry glass, with a beautiful SPIRAL and FERN or LEAF FEATHER type design. There is your typical and standard roughness/flea biting around the edges where the shade is attached to the fixture, but this is nothing you see when the shade is attached to the fixture. Antique Victorian Banquet Oil Lamp w/ Acid Etched Cranberry Glass Ruffled Shade
This is a stunning antique Victorian column banquet oil lamp with the following features: It measures a total of 25" tall. Shade is a ruffled"tulip" style with cranberry edges and an acid etched floral design; acid etched cranberry font with grape clusters and leaves and coin dot accents around the bottom; brass column(with original, lovely patina) frosted inner hurricane shade; and marble base, brass switch is marked B&P. It is an oil lamp converted to electric and works perfectly. It can very easily be converted back to oil by simply unscrewing the top(there have been NO holes drilled, etc. thank goodness! The only flaws noted are some discoloration on the inner hurricane shade, some very small nicks on the marble base, and one extremely tiny flea bite nick on the edge of the upper shade. I only detected this by running ... moremy finger over it. I have another lamp that is identical to this that I'm listing if you are interested in a pair. If you do purchase both lamps please be aware that I will not be able to combine shipping due to the lamps being so delicate, heavy, and fragile. My pictures do not do this lamp justice- it is just gorgeous! I will be listing lots and lots of lamps and lamp shades on a regular basis. With satin glass fading to a cranberry pink glass rim with an Art Nouveau style repeat pattern design to the main body. The cranberry pink colour glass deepens towards the gently fluted deep top rim. It stands approximately 17.3cm high. The apperture of the base is 9.4cm. Condition overall is very good and the shade is free from any hairlines. Some tiny chips and fleabites to the base fitter rim.
