You are bidding on a stunning pair of“End of day” glass vases with ruffled rim. Mounted as lamps. Wooded bases. Bohemia/Czechoslovakia. 1920s. Height 9 inches. This pair of lamps/vases is really attractive and interesting. Singles in this type of glass are much more commonly found. And this pair makes a nice statement with their strong colors and distinctive shapes. Displays superbly. An ideal luxurious gift for your home! What is"end-of-day" or"spatter glass" glass? In the past. Many collectors have called such multicolored glassware"end-of-day" glass because of a myth that said that at the end of the workday, glassblowers took the various colors of glass they had worked with, mixed them up, and blew this multicolored glass from the resulting mixture. Frankly. That is just ridiculous. If a glassblower mixed ... moreall the colors together, all he or she would get is a muddy molten mess— not the streaked and spotted product in today's question. The more proper term for this sort of ware is"spatter glass, and although it first appeared in the 19th century, similar glass is still made today. Early on. This glass was sometimes called"splash glass,but spatter is more accepted today. To make this type of glass, shards of different colored glass are spread over a table like work surface called a"marver. The glass blower begins by blowing a bubble into the base glass and then rolls the hot mass over the marver. The shards stick to the molten glass in a random fashion. And at this point the whole mass is reheated in the glass furnace. The glass blower then expands the bubble and shapes it into the desired form. Bohemia— and later Czechoslovakia— has been a major center for glass production for centuries. Some of the finest glassware in the world was made there. Bohemian Cased White to Pale Rose Glass Lamp with Enamelled Flowers Lions/ Gryphons Paw Acanthus Tripod Base For your consideration is an early 20th century electric lamp made of brass and Bohemian white cased cut to pale pink glass. The glass has accents of multicolored enamelled flowers. And the brass column is in reeded classical form, supported on a tripod of animal paws on a round brass base. The lamp is approx. 7" diameter at the base and 19" from the base to the top edge of the electrical socket, and 27 1/2" to the top of the harp. The base has an aged brass tone, and is discolored with numerous marks, scratches, and tarnish. There are marks on the glass where it joins the brass column as well. Bohemian Mantle Lusters are glass Victorian candlesticks circa late 1800s with dangling prisms. It was considered the height of luxury in the Victorian era to have mantle lusters in your homes on display. This Bohemian piece was made in the Czech Republic. Then Czechaslovakia. This style is called"CUT TO RUBY" It is made by first blowing glass into a ruby color, then encasing that in white glass. They then cut the designs out of the white to expose the ruby underneath. This beautiful piece is very ornate. It has no chips or cracks in any area. Please look closely at my photos. I know personally that this lovely mantle has been very well taken care of.

Antique Pink glass lustres- luster lamps with raised enamel painted design and gold painted decoration. Each luster has 10 prisms which are 7" overall. Prisms are in good condition- there are a few small chips on bottoms. Painting and gilding are in good condition. Lustres measure 14-1/2" tall and 6-1/2" in diameter at widest point.
