H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago Reverse Painted or Slag Glass Panel Table LAMP BASE
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1910-1920s signed H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago. Ill USA lamp base- originally meant for a slag glass lamp. The ring diameter for the ring fitter would be approx 2-3/4" diameter. The lamp is very ornate and has the original antique gold finish. It stands approx 22" no including the finial which may or may not be the original but looks good together. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- No damages but a few minor manufacturing mold imperfections- a few small inclusions- basically what you see in pic#2- maybe a couple more but nothing thats any real big deal. No chips. No cracks, No repairs, its as it was from the factory. I am unsure if the sockets are original or not- The top caps have a bright yellowish tint but the bottoms look correct- I am not sure just pointing out what I see. This auction is for an electric lamp with a slag glass shade. The base is marked 831 on the underside. The base is cast iron with a finish over it. The other parts are not iron. Some wear and/or small chips to the finish. Measures 16 1/2" assembled. The shade itself is 6 1/2" tall and the opening is 7" across. Some rough areas and chips on the edges of the glass pieces but nothing that shows from the outside and no cracks, some scratches or scuffs on the outside, the metal hides any edge damage. Antique lamp base part for slag glass shade , Bradley and Hubbard
This antique base is not si gned but I have seen it on Bradley and Hubbard lamps so I have listed it as such. It is primarily made of pot mteal with a br ass stem and steel socket cluster. All are painted in a bronze col ored finish with gilt highlights. The paint has some chipping and could use some restor ation. Other than that this base is in fine condition. It is not cracked bent or broken in any way. It is 20" tall and measures 8 1/2"across the widest dimension of the bottom. T he top of the socket cluster measures 1 3/4" It weighs 5 3/4 pounds. No manufacturing marks found. Two tone bronze patinas. Base is yellow bronze casting the upper classical urn body is a dark liver patina. I took the base apart looking for identifying larks and showed interior in photos. Light sockets work with original wiring and toggles. this is a slag lamp base from the 1920's sturdy enough to hold a very large slag glass canapy. Only one defect is minor dent in the shadows of side that I backlighted to exaggerate for you to see better. It is not noticable. Found in North Crown Heights. Brooklyn Historic district.

The wood pole is a substantial piece– 12-1/2” diameter solid base maple base with a hole in the center for wiring. The pole section of the lamp has a bottom dimeter of 5” and tapers slowly to a 2-3/4” diameter at the top. It is an uncommon heavy base that easily supports the large glass shade. A very nice antique. Circa 1920's, bronze base boudoir lamp with antique leaded slag glass shade. The lamp base is probably made by Handel, although the shape of the base, and the shade cap, are not pictured in either of the two major reference books on Handel. The shade is probably not by Handel. As presented the lamp measures 15" tall by 5" bottom diameter. The shade measures 4" tall by 5" diameter, the top opening 2-1/4" diameter. It is in working order with original socket, new cord, old plug. Excellent condition: bronze base without dents, original even patina without verdigris. The shade is without damage, secure leadings.

Here's a Rainaud lamp base for a slag glass shade. This base is straight and true and is not cracked or dented. It is 20 1/2' tall to the top of the cluster and has a 6 3/8" diameter foot. It weighs just under 4 1/2 pounds As you can see there is some chipping to the paint on the stem and on the finial. This would be easy to touch up if desired. But I’ve decided to sell it because I have finally given up on finding a tiffany style shade to put on it. Hopefully the new owner will be able to fix the shade up to its former beauty! Vintage Brass Lamp base for slag glass or reverse painted shade . Deco lamp
Here is a vintage brass lamp base for a slag glass or reverse painted shade in good working condition. All solid brass. There are some areas of darkening as you can see and a small crack in the cluster body that is shown in photo no.8. Other than that there appear to be no cracks or damage. It is 22 1/2" tall and the base is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" with 9 1/8" being the widest measurement across the bottom. The weight is a little over 5 pounds. Sockets are marked Monowatt. They both have porcelain and brass interiors, work well and are wired to a vintage style plug with modern cord. Securely packaged and shipped insured for the winning bid amount within the USA only. Now there are some missing beads, but it displays wonderfully. The base is filigree iron with wood. The underside of the base looks like it has"510" stamped into it. Darling blue slag stained glass table lamp. Top shade lead panels are individual basket of flowers per panel- 6 panels; base has matching basketful of flowers- 4 panels. All slag glass panels are intact. Stands 12.5 inches to top of cap. 14.5 inches including finial. Base is 4 inches wide, and shade is 8 inches across. Great for"mood" lighting- both top and base light up! We'll include light bulbs. As they are such a good match with the lamp: we've used a short 25 watt(med base) opaque bulb for the top and a night light bulb for the base.

Akro Agate Co. Custard Slag Glass Vintage Lamp Base Vintage Parts
Vintage Akro Agate Co. Glass Lamp Base in Good Working Condition This is a great little vintage lamp base in great working condition. It measures about 19" to the top of the brass finial. The base itself is about 8.5" tall and looks as if it comes apart in sections. This base could also work for parts if you restore and/or repurpose lighting and need these hard to find glass parts. With the exception of the deteriorated felt bottom cover and a hardly noticeable chip on the side of one of the center neck sections. The lamp is in great condition. I took a photo with a shade I had but it is not included. The right shade will make this the perfect side table lamp. I think it is from the 1930s or earlier. Absolutely stunning slag glass table lamp. B&H. Miller"era" base and shade design. Pinkish red flowers with greenery on matching eight panel shade and base with original parts. Cord is in good condition, and both sockets and pulls operate as intended and were working at time of listing. Unsigned work. Vintage Empire Leaded Base Bent Panel Purple Colored Slag Glass Lamp
This is a vintage Empire leaded base bent panel purple colored slag glass lamp. It has eight panels with what looks like an oil lamp with vines and a mirror with a boy on top. This is found in the book. Electric Lighting of the Twenty's& Thirty's. The shade and base however are a union and not made for each other. It measures 22 1/2" tall and the shade is 7" tall x 16" in diameter. The base measures 9 1/4" in diameter. The lamp has been repainted and there is some paint loss. There are no chips, cracks or repair in the glass. The lamp is in good working condition as you can see in the pictures. It has a cord that I would not put on that type of lamp. Fabulous vintage table lamp Lily pad base Slag glass shade in ornate gold gilt frame Lamp stands approx 14.5" tall Lampshade is a little loose but it looks to me as if someone put in a new light socket and did not tighten the nut that holds the shade to the lamp. Antique Miller Lamp base For Slag or stained Glass Shade 3 acorn pull chains
The lamp is about 21" tall. I did find a little bolt for the top. That would normally hold the shade on, in the box that this was in, after I had taken the pictures, so you can't see that. I will include it in the shipping box, but I don't know if it is the right one or not. It was loose in the box. It seems to fit the hole, but does not screw down very far. I did not test this by plugging it in. All three pulls seem like they would turn the bulbs off and on just fine, click and click. I just love those little bitty acorn pulls. I don't think anything is broken on this, but the cord is in terrible shape. I do have a shade listed, that looks like stained glass to me, but I am no pro. It might be slag glass, not stained, and it might go with this. The person that owns these two items said they go together but I thought this ... morelamp looked older than that shade. Antique Obverse Painted Slag Glass Lamp Cast Iron Base
A lovely antique slag glass lamp with signed gilt cast iron base and original matching finial. The six sided shade has ornate filigree over the glass. The lamp retains original red and green paint on the glass within the filigree work. The lamp is in good condition. The cord is falling apart. So the lamp must be rewired. There is wear and tarnish throughout the metal finish commensurate with age. I can't make out the first part of the mark on the underside that finishes with"NEW YORK. Surface rust on the underside of the base. The lamp measures 22 inches tall and the shade is 15 inches diameter. The base measures just over 6" diameter. Stunning antique green slag glass lamp shade with bronze base. Both pieces are quite heavy for it's size. The base reminds me of a tree trunk. The shade has 6 panels and the bronze has a nice patina. The lamp is about 8" tall and 5" across the shade. The leading is intact. I cannot find a manufacturer mark on the base or shade. It has been engraved BC78 and I assume it was a gift to some one. The wiring has been replaced with an inline switch.

Up for bid is this early 1900's table lamp base. It is cast iron. Heavy and ornate. 23 inches tall without finial. Finish appears original and needs restored. Finial is not original. 3 1/8 shade fitter plus 1/8 inch lip. Sockets with pulls appear original but I do not know if they work but they work freely. There is no cord on the lamp. Very nice lamp by Edward Miller. I do not know if the slag glass shade is original to the piece but the hardware fittings seem to fit perfectly. Base is marked and numbered#1161(style) Base has original patina. All other hardware appears to be original and is oxidized and will need to be cleaned or refinished. Nice project lamp! Shade is damaged in that two slag glass pieces are missing. Should be and easy repair for a stained glass artisan. The cream/brown colored slag glass is not super hard to find. I lightly glass beaded it and painted it to match a similar smaller lamp my wife has. We couldn't find the right shade so it's time to let this beauty go. It has the original finial and other parts. Antique Signed Bradley & Hubbard Lamp Base For Slag Glass Art Nouveau Early 1900
Looks like the base plate and sockets are copper and the stem is brass or bronze. The only places my magnet sticks are on the cast iron weight in the bottom and the bolt at the top. One socket looks to be original(Bryant. Patented 1907) and the other looks like it must have been replaced decades ago(Eagle) both are solid copper. The Bryant pull chain doesn't move and will need the socket dismantled& repaired. The Eagle works just fine. At some point someone replaced the cord and plug, but the internal wiring is still the original cloth covered. Very good structural condition. Should clean up nicely. 18" tall x 7" diameter at base. A wonderful Arts and Crafts/Mission Era hand crafted table lamp. Base is wooden and has four supporting arms for the shade made of wood and slag glass- lamp features a working double socket with pull chains and currently has a really long electric cord. I'm guessing because most homes had limited electrical outlets(I would recommend rewiring) This lamp may be W B Brown but there is no marking- I understand this was not uncommon as he produced these lamps wholesale to Montgomery Wards. This is a true beauty to own. The shade sits upon the supporting arms and requires no hardware. The measurements of the lamp are approximate- 26.5"high 16"arm to arm reach 10.5"square base, shade is 14.75"overall 7"panel 5.5"top. But needs to be mentioned in the description. This lamp shade shows very minor flaw's, The lamp shows a few cracks and hair lines fractions in the slag glass at the rims edge. It looks as if the lamps was hit on the rims edge and bent downward and cracked the slag stained glass. BUT This item as you will see in my posting shows where it has been ... moredented on the rims edge and that caused the slag glass to crack, though there are no missing pieces and are very minor Cracks, flaw's. This item shows very minor hair lines and cracks though you will notice the rims edge is a little off center and Not totally round. I feel this can be a very easy fix. Absolutely gorgeous Art Nouveau slag glass art lamp! The lamp appears gothic in style and has a snowflake or starburst finial vent accent on the top of the shade. The handcrafted workmanship is quite nice and only has 3 hairline cracks in one panel as shown in the pictures. The shades overall condition is quite good. The shade sits on a vintage Heyco cast Art Deco lamp base which has been touched up with a bit of paint. But the base isn't the star here. The shade is absolute show stopper! The shade is adorned with roses. Bows, flowers and other designs. The base is cast spelter metal. Equally ornate. This lamp has been rewired with reproduction cloth cord. 18 guage black twisted pair. The original cloth cord was trashed. The original plug has been retained. I think this lamp is from the late 1930's or 1940's. Very good condition. One crack in the slag glass which is on the croen of the shade. I made a picture but it's really difficult to see. Definitely not a deal breaker. The lamp stands 27 inches tall. It works when plugged in. There are no cracks or chips in the base. The bottom of the base is cast iron. And the stem/column is spelter. The brown paint on the base is worn and chipping away throughout. The harp and finial/heat cap are secure. The plug and cord are also in good condition. The metal overlay on the shade is slightly greening; there is also slight greening on the stem. There is one spot on ... morethe metal overlay of the shade where it appears a repair was made(near top of shade) The top metal piece of the shade also looks like it has been re-soldered together. The six panels of curved slag glass are white and caramel. The glass in the shade is not chipped or cracked. But there are some visible fold lines. The metal tabs holding the slag glass secure on the inside of the shade are all intact. The maker's mark is on the underside of the base. Antique Victorian Era Oil Lamp base slag glass brass brown repurpose flower pot
Up for sale is this great Victorian Era Oil Lamp base made of Slag( glass and the base is made of metal with brass finish. The glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and has a great draped design. The base metal is also in very good structural and cosmetic condition and only the brass finish is somewhat worn(please see photos) This is rather large. Measuring over 12 inches wide at the widest section and almost 12 inches tall. There are no maker marks. However there is a# on the bottom of the metal base that reads, 42, I say? because I can not read what that first number or letter is. I was told by the family who owned this that this came from Germany, likely European at least, but the actual maker is unknown and could have been made in USA. This weighs almost 6 lbs!
