Double Argand Brass Oil Lamp with Etched Shades c. 1850 Boston Luxury Retailer Jones. Lows& Ball Offered is this handsome antique double Argand brass oil lamp with an urn form fluid reservoir topped with a bud finial. It features a fluted tapered body which supports curved arms and burners on a square base. It features the original wheel cut clear glass shades which are etched in a pattern of medallions and intricate designs. The lamp measures 18 inches tall by 15 inches wide and 5 inches square at the base. This lamp was originally used with whale oil or vegetable oil. But has been electrified and is in good working order. Some of the fiber covering the wire is frayed. One of the three screws on one glass shade is missing. The shade is still secure with two. PETITOT : signed FRENCH 1930 ART DECO CHANDELIER ... muller and degué shades
H.Petitot A french 1932/1935 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze by the famous Paris based company of H.Petitot holding three large wonderful panels and three side-shades. The bronze maker Antonin Petitot started his company in 1878. His son Henri Petitot took over in 1917. He wasn't a retailer at first and sold his lights to lamp shops all over France. Europe and the States. In the early days of art deco they produced precious fixtures in high quality bronze with shades from the best french glass factories such as Muller freres. In the late 30's they changed their style and produced lights in a modernist look. To survive the depression their fixtures often became cheaper- partially done in pressed brass. These beautiful lamps often had opalescent shades in bluish semi-crystal by the Ezan glass company. They ... morecertainly set a trend and nowadays lots of chandeliers are offered also on ebay under the name of Petitot pieces which in reality are often pieces made by other companies such as Ranc freres Lacroix or names nowadays forgotten. The model chandelier I present was first made around 1931 and in the 5 years that followed Petitot made fixtures in several versions all holding these large panels in combination with this model side shade. Both canopy and other parts of the mounting are marked with the usual Petitot initials AP for Antonin Petitot. The three panels are signed Petitot France. They were produced by Muller freres: they also exist unsigned and are also represented in the old Muller catalogues. For the side shades Petitot chose a well known model Degué shade and ordered unsigned ones for his chandeliers. Normaly Degué sold this model with its own Degué signature but for Petitot they made a new unsigned mould. The chandelier has a drop of 88 cm(34-5/8" and a diameter of 60.5 cm(23-3/4" It is in excellent condition. The fixture has been replated and the lamp is newly wired. Ready to use. TWO matching signed . PITTSBURGH antique lamp shades INDUSTRIAL nice condition
Up for sale are TWO MATCHING industrial? lamp shades. They are both Clearly signed PITTSBURG Looks like they are flashed glass with a very shiny almost mercury like interior and a ribbed exterior. They measure about 6" tall. And the base is 7.5" x 8" With a top opening of a little over 2" In very good condition. I had these marked in my shop at $125 each but will sell them n this site for $195 for the pair! Very very little paint loss! They can be seen at my home prior to the ending of the auction if need be. I live 30 miles ease of Phila. Antique 26" Bronze Patinated Newel Post signed Lamp With Rare Art Glass Shades
I have seen lots of figural newel post style lamps but this one with the art glass shades is over the top. The shades are pink at the opening and fade back to clear. I put some awesome colored lights on it the darken the shade colors and makes this lap radiant. And what a great subject. The farm girl feeding the chicks. Oh my! Signed by Aristide de Ranieri. There is just the statue for sale by another ebay seller. Item number 191259301040. For more than my starting price. This piece dates from around 1890 to 1910. This piece is made of bronze patinated spelter as 95% of the newel post lamps are made. Measures 26" tall and about 21" to the top of the girls head. An excellent larger item.
