We found this old wall sconce at an estate auction. The two socket covers and the backplate are copper. The rest is cast metal. The scone is approximately ... more10” wide x 8” high x 5” deep. The backplate is 5” in diameter. The edge of the backplate is ruffled at the edge. I did wire the sconce in and it works– however– the socket on the left is very loose and definitely needs some work or replacement. The wiring looks like it was replaced at one time. The amber bulbs shown in the photos are what was in the sconces when we got it. However, they are NOT INCLUDED in the purchase and will not be shipped with the sconce. Here is a large old cast brass lamp finial with the form of a bird inside a wreath. It is about 3 inches tall and 1 13/16 inches wide. The threaded hole fits onto a standard lamp harp(shade holder) This is shown in the last 2 photos. This finial would look appropriate at the top of a floor lamp or a large table lamp. The finish of the brass has mellowed or darkened a little bit from tarnish over the years. Though it looks a little bit darker in the photos than it does in person. It will look more appropriate on an old lamp than a shiny new finial.

And extremely heavy. the base and shaft are made from solid cast iron with stunning detailing in high relief. it has a very long solid shaft with intricate finishing pieces. it has two wonderfully swirled bronze arms. Each holding a single generic size bulb, with dripping candle socket covers. the shade is handmade from real shell and has a nice gold gilt skeleton, it is a very nice shape for this style shade. In the right light you can pick up some green and purple hues. The seahorse on the arm is very hard to find and would be ideal in that beachside home. Chain pulls down from inside ceiling mount and back inside when finished dropping lamp for cleaning or replacing oil. There are 2 different dates on the piece. Inside cast says Pat Oct 5, 1886& Aug 23, 1885 on other side of cast piece. Outside metal piece says Pat Aug 18,1885 and other side says Aug 18, 1886. Check out my other piece similar to this find. The shade is adorned with roses. Bows, flowers and other designs. The base is cast spelter metal. Equally ornate. This lamp has been rewired with reproduction cloth cord. 18 guage black twisted pair. The original cloth cord was trashed. The original plug has been retained. I think this lamp is from the late 1930's or 1940's. Very good condition. circa 1860's 1870s oil lamp looks to be is in great shape minus the minor issues listed above. we are not sure who the bust is supose to be of and we will be glad to share when/if we find out. Looks to have been painted over the years.The font is glass in great condition. The burner has an old wick in it that does not feed up and down freely with the"THE GRAND BURNER MFG Co N.Y. on the knob. The Chimney has imperfections and characteristics that would be consistent with it being 150 or so years old and likely original to the lamp. This is an unrestored as we found it lamp. Cast iron base is original and in great condition.

For your consideration an early 20th century green slag-glass and bronzed table lamp. Beautifully detailed base and ornate shade. In very good original condition. There are no cracks or breaks. On the shades painted surfaces there is slight wear from age. Imbedded dirt and dust, and scattered surface rust in the shade interior. It looks like the cord was changed some time ago. The lamp is basically untouched and fresh to the market. The only mark I can see is the number 471 on the inside of the shade. It has a beautifully designed pyramid shaped base with a detailed relief-cast scene of the setting sun with pelicans and fish in rippeling water. The base is made of metal and has a patinated bronzed finish. There is some wear and discoloration at the bottom of the base It has a single Weber lamp socket and pull chain. The shade is about 13-1/2 ... moreinches square. It is assembled cast iron or steel construction with a roman gold painted surface. The shade consists of 16 emerald green glass panels that appear to be original to the shade. There are no breaks or cracks. The shade is about 5 inches in height and 7" to the top of the 5 x 5 crest. The complete lamp stands about 20 inches tall with a 6-3/4 inch square base. Combined weight is 23 pounds. Will ship nicely in a 20 inch cube.
