Pair of Vintage Italian Pottery Lamps with Sea Life - Mid-Century Modern
Pair of Italian pottery lamps. In beautiful shades of gold, purple, and green, with sea life—starfish, crabs, sea horses, etc. One lamp is a little more purple, the other a little more green. They date, I would guess, from the 1950s or 60s. Both were rewired about 20 years ago, and work fine. There's a bit of black paint flaking off on the base of each lamp, but this should be easy to retouch. Otherwise, they are in good condition. Each lamp stands about 31" tall. To the tip of the finial. The finials are non-matching. And these do NOT include lampshades.

This most unusual lamp of the years just before WWII is molded and hand carved with forms borrowed from neoclassical tradition including a stylized female bust and handled urn. No cracks, excellent color and shine in glaze, wood is in excellent condition with no wear. RARE EARLY CUBIST ABSTRACT MODERN ART POTTERY LAMP BRASS HUBBEL SOCKETS
RARE Early Vintage Cubist- Abstract- Surrealist- Modern Art Pottery Lamp. This lamp was recently discovered in the basement of an 1800s Victorian home renovation in the Five Points area of Denver. CO. It was in a crawl space with several old oil paintings. There are no markings of any sort on the pottery base that is shaped like a pitcher. The brass sockets are unmarked but appear to be Hubbel. The round brass globes on the pull chains are marked"Pat. May 9 1911. The base is 10" tall and the total height is 18" The lamp is not wired.
