Blue milk glass Hobnail Lamps Marble Base 13" TALL BEAUTIFUL PAIR
Pair of vintage light blue milk glass? hobnail swirl glass table lamps. The lamps are approximately 13" tall marble base 4" X 4" Both of them work fine. They're pretty much exactly alike but one turns on and the other has a push button, marble base is slightly different pattern. The blue color looks to be under inside of glass slightly irridescent. They have some gold loss on the plastic pieces as shown, very small amount of chips on base. The cord on one of the lamps has 2 lines as shown, doesn't look to be cut possible got to close to something? melted? No wires are showing and it doesn't go to the underside of cord. This is an unusual piece. A scent or perfume diffuser in the shape of a lamp. Very good condition. Very pretty. 6 inches tall, 5" wide. The base is iridescent milk glass with a frosted glass shade. The shade is decorated at intervals with painted flowers. From metal strips on the shade. Hang clear pendant charms. At the top is a gold tone cap open areas to release the fragrance. This cap unscrews from the base to reveal the wick. The diffuser can be filled with fragrance or aromatic oil of your choice. I bought this from an antique fair in the UK. Some time ago now, 20 years or so. I do not have any other information about it. It is not lighted. Just serves as a diffuser. There are no makers marks to guide us further. Offered for auction is this circa mid to late 1800's Blue Milk Glass converted oil lamp with replacement shade and chimney on a nice reticulated brass base. The pattern name of the font eludes me but can be found in any quality book on blue milk glass. Nice fluted top and cross hatched pattern shade compliments the color of the BMG. Frosted chimney stops the glare from a clear glass chimney. 21" to top of chimney. A lovely lady informed me that this lamp was made by Dithridge Co. and the pattern is Sunset.

Beautiful 19th C. oil lamp, pink milk glass font, marble column base no vaseline
19th C. oil lamp. The brass-mounted turned marble column base supporting a glass font with vertical stripes of milk glass, graduating from white at the base to pink at the top. The stripes have a vey"vaseliney" look to them, but I have tested this with a black-light and it does not fluoresce like true vaseline glass. Total height to the top of the burner is 14 1/2" 37cm) the diametre of the font is 4 3/4" 11.5cm) and the brass burner is just over 2" 5cm) across at the widest point, to take a 2" fitter shade. The brass parts are lightly tarnished(easily buffed up if so desired) and there is a small split on one side of the brass collar at the top of the marble column(photo No.8) otherwise in very good condition, with everything working as it should. Antique kerosene oil base missing burner and chimney. Clear glass has Union Shield and Stars design. Three seams in very wavy glass with lots of bubbles and straw marks. Looks very much to be hand blown and has no chips or cracks. Brass burner mount measures 7/8" I.D. x 1 3/8" O.D. There does appear to be some glue where the clear glass top meets the brass piece it is mounted on. White glass base measures 4" x 4" There are several very small marks in the base Possible"flea bites" or simply flaws in the original glass work. There are no large cracks or chips.
