Vintage Iron& Blown Amber Glass Hall Lantern Lamp Shade This is a beautiful old lamp shade. The outer frame is made of iron. And the internal amber glass shade was obviously blown into it as it is all one piece. Condition: The iron frame is quite rusty at the top. But all the fixing screws turn and are not rusted in place( though a couple of these screws couh use replacement as the heads are eroded) There is no light fitting bracket. Very close inspection shows a 3 cm crack in the glass near the top and a small chip on the bottom edge- not easy to see. This is a very unusual piece from a old estate whom the owner's ancestor who once owned these items was a Ex Civil War Vet as well as a Mason. The Table Temple Lamp- Lantern comes apart. The doors, top, all can be opened and fits back in place. The lamp is covered in unusual symbols Trial with building column, a globe with atlas scroll, a book with spy glass and word Nome, Musical horns, hat, painters board brush, Paysage and book holder, Man and trial, and much more all etched and gold gilt. It also has 5 red, green, yellow panes of glass. One of the red was replaced at one time and colored as seen in the pics. The lamp parts on the inside are gone, the top comes off as well as finial. ROSES Spray decal is shown on all three sides at the corner of each panel and the ROSES Spray is carried up towards the top and is accented in gold trim. The backside shows a round metal plate that slides to the right or left so the bulb can be changed out. The Shade is original and is not metal but a heavy cardboard. Four ball feet rest under the base of the Lamp. Quite a unique and SCARCE Lamp and beautifully done. The bulb in the base flickers to give a true lantern feel. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. AUTHENTIC, Mid Century, older vintage Italian chandelier lamp. This stunning lantern fixture features an ornate, heavily gilded iron and brass frame which is paired with frosted, bent and stained glass. The lamp in unique and has characteristics of French, Italian and Spanish Mission. The frame has 4 opened panels with a Mission style, scrolled iron design. These panels alternate with 4 glass panels(total of 8 panels) The glass is frosted. It is bent and curves inward at the center(concave) Each glass panel is highlighted with a delicate and intricate stained pattern. The stained pattern is an ornately scrolled design and pairs beautifully with the scrolled iron, open panels. Each stained glass panel is framed with a gilded acanthus leaf border on the top and bottom and faux twist"rope" on ... moreeach side. The top and bottom of the fixture continue with the same design of the opened panels. The iron scrolls and curves at each section. Inside, the fixture houses 4 candelabra lights(25 watt each) These, too, are ornate with gilded bobeches and white to gold drip wax style candle sleeves. The fixture retains the original metal"Made in Italy" tag on the upper section of the frame. This was(is) originally a hanging lamp but the fixture could very easily be converted to a chandelier. There is an on/off switch located on the bottom of the fixture. The lamp is in very good condition with very little signs of age or use. This listing includes a small version of the old kerosene or oil lamps that were used for lighting in the old days. I don't know the exact age. But it belonged to my grandmother according to my 84 year old mother. This is a"non-working" lamp although it does come apart at the base. The piece of burning material does not advance through the holder and the chimney is far too small to allow a burning flame of any kind. Could use a thorough cleaning. Unique shaped glass bottom with a swirl effect to the glass and the chimney. Only marking that I see is a number"2" on the bottom(see picture 5) Measures 5 3/4" tall with a 3" diameter base. antique or vintage peacock lamp lantern 1920 Art Decco Painted Glass working
For sale is a nice old peacock lamp. I don't know much about this item but will try to explain it the best I can. The lamp does work fine as seen in the photos but will be shipped without the bulb. I'm not sure how old this lamp is but appears to be around 1920's. It was purchased from an estate sale in upstate NY. The top piece and base might not be original to this item. From doing a little research I believe this was a hall lantern that someone rewired and put a base on. All three pieces of painted glass are in good condition. Some of the paint of the peacock's is wearing off the glass. This could be repainted by someone and look stunning. The main tin frame is in nice condition with some scratches.
