French Antique Gilt Bronze Torchiere Candelabra Chandelier Lamp c. 1890-1920
French Gilt Bronze Antique Hanging Candelabrum[Antique Chandelier] Late 19th to Early 20th Century Item# 130108SYG12 This is a stunning work in the French Empire style from the late 19th to early 20th Century. Probably c. 1890-1920. Crisply founded and cast with a brilliant gilded surface, the form is highly attractive in the finely balanced details. The six arms of the candelabra trumpet with acanthus foliage flowing above and below in large exaggerated swirls, each arm swelling into the overflowing apex beneath the well of each candle. The lamp is electrified with plastic faux candles in each arm, respectfully wired with as minimal intrusion to the form as possible. Three arms support the hanging of the candelabra, with linked chain rising from the flowing foliage above each of these three arms- one arm has a slight upward bend as a result ... moreof years supporting this weight and at some point it should be re-soldered for strength, though currently it does not cause any problem with the structure. The bottom of the lamp terminates in a large pineapple form, the top cresting in a magnificent flame finial. We very infrequently come across hanging candelabra of this form that we like- this piece is an absolute treasure. In rare condition and of very fine quality. This is a piece that will set your home apart. It should be examined by your local lamp dealer for rewiring, cleaning and strengthening of the arm, but is a strike-point piece that is well worth the investment for a lifetime of enjoyment. Measurements: 17 1/4" wide x 17 1/4" wide; 24" height from bottom to the first large loop Condition Report: One arm upon which the chain pulls is lifting loose and at some point will need to be re-soldered. Electrified. Though the lamp should be rewired prior to use for safety. Several candles are loose and bent. Very dusty and oxidized, the gilt tarnished. Saint Florian, and an ancient Roman temple with the date 1760, and upper assemblies of six candle arms of cast metal which are believed to be bronze. Not all the writing has been deciphered. The Latin abbreviation OP.N is seen on the panels depicting Jereamius and Florian, which stands for Ora Pro Nobis and translates to Pray For Us. Here's a lovely. Substantial, beautifully crafted floor lamp that must have been splendid when, in the'30s or 40's, it was brand new. Over the decades the brass reacts to moisture and the result is what you see. We now call this"antique patina. The lamp takes a mogul bulb, and a new mogul bulb was recently purchased for this lamp. The lamp is in wonderful working condition. The cord has been inspected but I always advised the buyer to get it inspected before using. There are 2 switches that operate the different lighting. 1 is for the main center 3 way light& the other operates the 3 candelabra's. The result, an excellent light source. The white glass milk shade diffuser is original. Original cuffs around the 3 arm candelabra lights. The original Hollywood Drum shade is AMAZING. Vintage/Antique? Brass & Enamel Candelabra Torchiere Floor Standing Lamp 3 Way
Fantastic vintage. Possibly antique torchiere candelabra lamp. Both the candelabra portion and the torchiere portion are 3 way switches. The torchiere portion takes a large base bulb and has an excellent condition milk glass shade. The lamp stands 60" tall to the top of the shade, the base is almost an 11" diameter. Clearly there is some considerable finish wear especially on the enamel portions, but overall the piece is solid. Dependent on your needs it is vintage character or could be easily refinished to suit newer style. The wiring and switches all seem to function fine. Feel free to ask questions. Antique/ Vintage Chrome and Slag Glass Torchiere Candelabra Floor Lamp This attractive floor lamp is in excellent condition. Not pitted or spotted. It appears to have been rewired with modern cord. I have tested the 3 candelabra bulbs. Which work, but I did not have an adapter to test the center Mogul bulb socket. That socket holds a larger bulb that can still be bought, or an adapter can be found at Home Depot or Lowes so it will take a regular size bulb. It worked when I last used the lamp, approximately 6 years ago. It’s been in safe storage since. 57”H. Base is 11” diameter. The heavy decorative footed chrome base is topped with slag agate glass. Possibly from Akro or Houze. The glass has no chips and, like the entire lamp, is in great condition. This is an awesome vintage floor lamp. Main stem holds a bulb and has a smooth milk white torchiere lamp shade. 3 more bulb sockets in a candelabra layout with curved arms offset the main light. There are no shades for the candelabra and no bulbs are included. Cord is in poor repair and will need to be replaced. Post is gold colored. Base is metal. At the base is a marble colored plastic shield that also has a small light underneath that will light up the marble. Lamp stands 59" high. Antique Candelabra Torchiere 5 light Floor Lamp Unusual Bell Piveting light RARE
RARE& UNUSUAL because of the BELL READING LIGHT' that hangs down below the 4 bulb Candelabra Torchiere. There is a total of 5 lights on the Floor lamp, There are 4 switches, one switch for the Bell Reading light, 1 switch is a 3 way for the top 3 lights and switches it from 1,2 or 3 lights, then a switch for the top center light and then a Toggle switch to turn all the power off or on to all the switches, it does work and all the switches and lights work as they should, the cord has a few places that are freyed with some of the wire showing, so it should be replaced, but it does work, the wiring is all original and you may or may not want to replace and upgrade for safety purpose because of the age, the Base is showing paint loss and some rust on a thin metal ring around the middle of the Cast Iron Heavy base, some scuffs and chips ... morehere and there and you may want to Repaint this, it will be a great Restoration project for that Snow day you cant go to work, ive restored Dozens and you can do this in One day, actually about 4 hours, all the material for wiring and painting you can get at the local Lowes Stores, Restored this lamp would easily bring $300 dollars and maybe more, buy mine Cheap and restore it yourself and save, remember, It does work and is Very Unusual and RARE with the Bell Light, also, the Bell Pivets in different directions, the lamp is 57'inches tall and weighs in at 10 lbs.
