Up for bid a very rare beauty it's a french opaline glass lamps really rare the bottom of the lamp has a medallion young napoleon according to previous owner with floral foliage and acathus and it's made of very heavy metal could be cast iron or white brass then the first section which is the base is made into sections they are detached not all the lamp in blue is in one piece that's what I trying to explain.The burner has ornated wings with leaves and initals HS the knob says non plus ultra Brenner it has two pull chains it's really very intriguing. I found both lamps in a local antique shop that receives estate donations. I have two lamps exactly the same. Both lamps have been rewired and work great. The base of the lamps could be pewter ... moreor rhodium not spelter as I thought I checked other spelter lamps and this is a very heavy metal or solid white brass more likely pewter. Antique Tall 19th Century French Robins Egg Blue Opaline Glass Kerosene Oil Lamp An ornate gilt brass base surmounted by a blue opaline glass double pedestal. Decorated in gold fleur-de-lis designs, seperated by gilt brass fittings, topped with a kerosene tank and removeable fixture assembly and glass chimney. The lamp was in the process of being converted to electric at some point in the past, but this work was not completed. The bottom of the kerosene tank is stamped: Vaast NY- Maker" the glass is more than likely French made, and is definately in the French taste! This is opaline glass and is NOT cased glass. The chimney is a later, but, antique replacement. Up for bid a really nice antique french blue opaline gothic handles and white lamp it has a solid brass base and it has been rewired works great and has no cracks. Antique Pair Nickle Plated Candle Sticks with Antique Blue Glass Opaline Globes
Antique Pair of Nickle Plated Candle Holders with Blue Opaline Glass Globes. The pair is marked on the base with an anchor and compass mark. I have not been able to find anything on this wonderful old pair. It looks as if they were originally spring loaded candle sticks but the columns have filled with wax and I have not taken them apart to inspect. The fabulous element if this pair is the blue opaline globes. Not sure if the are French or not but the look to have been hand blown. A little roughness on the bottom edges from where they were cut but no breaks, cracks, chips or nicks in the glass. The two bases have a few dings as you might expect from age but otherwise no breaks. Bends or repairs. The pair stands 14" high to the top of the globes with the bases measuring 4-1/4" in diameter. Antique Opaline French Blue Oil Lamp Converted 34" Tall
Antique blue opaline oil lamp that was converted some time in the past. It stands 34" tall and 10" wide. It has two sections the top bowl is in fine condition. The bottom vase like section has three pieces broken around the neck of the rim. One you can hardly see. see pictures) It has incredible raised decoration all over the lamp. Hello- This is a gorgeous true French Opaline Lamp. It is double-walled glass. Beautiful clarity and depth. The White Sugar Frosted design is in great shape, with the design repeated on both sides. Really at first glance I thought that they were Cherubs- so this lamp is very subtle. The base and fixture are a little tarnished which is typical for antique lamps. The shade is not included. Up for bid a beautiful antique french blue opaline it has miniature flowers and has very rich colors it has peforated base and the light works great on the bottom as well as the top. It measures 37inchesH to the socket it's 27.5in and it is 27in around the bottom base is 8inches is footed with gothic they look like fish but could be anything else and the brass and openwork is intact no damage. I bought the lamp several years ago in an antique shop as opaline floral lamp with the period that I mentioned above. Available for purchase. We have a Gorgeous Blue Opaline Glass Student Oil Lamp. It measures 8-1/2" tall and the base bottom has a diameter of 4-1/4" The lamp is a beautiful blue. Slightly darker than some of the other blue Opaline I have seen. There is a mark on the side of the oil lamp. There is a circle right in the glass as shown in photos. I don't know if that was an imperfection or a makers mark? The bottom of the lamp has the open Pontil scar, typical of Opaline glass lamps I have seen. There are no cracks or chips.
