Date: Around 1930 +/ Materials: This outstanding table lamp is made out of chrome-plated metal and equipped with a thick-walled lampshade. Made out of opalescent glass. The lampshade is all around adorned with icicles- to achieve a bigger contrast the icicles are clear polished while the rest of the lampshade shows a frosted surface. The metal parts are all hold in a strict geometrical design like it is typical for the french Art deco design. Measurements: The total height of the table lamp is 18.1" 46 cm) The lamp stand has a diameter of 6.3" 16 cm) The lampshade only has a height of 3.9" 10 cm) and a max. diameter of 7.1" 18 cm) Condition: The entire table lamp is in excellent. Check out my other items! Large Modernist Art Deco Lamp. Manufactured in France in the 1940's this lamp is in good working condition showing gentle signs of age and wear. It is about 21 inches high and has a beautiful beige or pale yellow shadow(called Clichy) stepped glass shade. The base is made of two tones wood showing scratches(see close up pictures) Not that visible in reality. Could be touched up by new owner if desired. The push button works, the felt Under is missing. The body is made of chrome with chrome shade holder. The chrome parts show small surface oxydation spots and the vented shade holder has one bent on one of the hold vented area(shown on pictures) I describe very precisely the condition with all small defects but please keep in mind that this is not visible in reality as shown on close up pictures. MARTIN& GUENIER A very rare french 1940-1950 art deco chandelier. The mounting in nickel plated brass and glass rods holds six slip shades in moulded-pressed glass. During the 40ies and 50ies the company of the designers Pierre MARTIN and Martin GUENIER was specialized in creating furniture mainly for large projects like city halls etc. Not many lamps are known. There is one model flush-mount(a modernist square glass signed Martin et Guenier Paris 6003) which I saw about 5 times over the last 20 years. The chandelier on offer must be very rare. I never saw one before. The six slip shades are frosted on the inside and have a marvelous pearl luster. Certainly produced by one of France top glass manufacturers like Daum freres. They are signed M&G Paris 6002. The chandelier has a drop of 67 cm(26-3/8" and it's also 67 cm in diameter. ... moreIt is in good condition. I have replated the fixture and it's rewired with 8 european E14 sockets. For the US I will replace them for US candelabra base ones. I could also wire with B22 bayonet cap sockets. Henri Petitot A french modernist art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass and bronze by the famous Paris based maison Petitot. Around 1935. It holds eight tubular shades in frosted glass. The 1934 Petitot catalogue shows similar chandeliers less refined in their design. I had some of them in the past but never liked them very much finding them boring and uninspired. The model on offer here is something else though. I love it! I saw a catalogue picture of it once.must have been the ´35 or ´36 catalogue. The chandelier is 75cm(29-1/2" high and 50cm(19-11/16" wide. The shades have a diameter of 6.9 cm and are 20 cm high. The chandelier is in excellent condition. I have renickeled the fixture and the lamp is rewired. It hold 8 european E14 sockets. For the US I will rewire it with US candelabra base ones. The bronze ... moremounting is marked AP on the inside. The usual marks of the Petitot company. Leleu A rare 1933-39 french art deco chandelier by the famous Paris based company of George and Jules Leleu. The shade in thick pressed-moulded opalescent glass in a geometrical pattern combined with the design of the chromed solid brass fixture gives a wonderful modernist look to this hard to find Leleu model. The opalescent semi-crystal bowl is milky bluish when the light shines on it and shows beautiful tones of amber when light is shining through. As we know from the best opalescent glasses like pieces by Sabino Lalique Verlys or Ezan. I show you a picture of the 1933 G.Leleu poster representing the same bowl in a cheaper version, normal glass and simple fixture.
