This is a real cute tin mini lamp. It measures 5" tall and 3 1/2" across. The lamp has its original filler cap and wick shown in photo. In photo 2. At bottom of handle needs to be resoldered. Also in photo 5 you will see a repair previously done on bottom of spout. The lamp is quite unique and I am not sure it was a railroad lamp since on the lamp it has the letter CRRN U. ANTIQUE 1900 DUTCH NETHERLANDS STORE ADVERTISING TIN BOX DISPLAY REPURPOSED LAMP
We are pleased to offer this unique lamp. The lamp has been"created" at some point(not by us. And not recently) by utilizing an turn of the century store display, tin box. The large box is colorful and has a different design on each side. The box once housed Crustard(custard/pudding) powder mix. The custard company, AJP's was located in Groningen, Netherlands. This tin dates to the very early 1900(around 1906) The tin has a pull up lid and a roomy interior. It has a wooden surround at the base and 4 wooden, bun feet. The lamp has a swing arm so the position can be changed. The down rod is very near the rear of the tin so it does not affect the interior storage area too much. The piece is very colorful and extremely nostalgic. It is quite interesting. It is in good condition with the front of the tin showing the most age in the ... moremanner of wear to the paint. There are no holes in the tin and only a couple of minor dings. In general, it is in very good antique condition. The wiring is vintage but it is in good, working condition. There is no shade or harp included, but the lamp is fitted for both. We chose a large, decorative bulb(not included) without a distracting shade. The lamp measures 18.5" tall to the socket. The tin. With wooden surround and feet included, measures 14" tall, 21.25" wide and 14.5" front to back. The box only measures 18" wide, 11.5" tall and 11" deep. Up for sale is an antique"Bullseye" Lens Night Lantern. These style lanterns were used in the mid to late 1800's. This style lens magnifies the flame. Just like a modern flashlight. Police commonly carries this style lantern. It has a piece of tin that can slide in front of the lens- to hide the glow. The lens hinges open to service the flame which runs off oil. The cartridge which holds fuel oil needs a wick fitting for it to glow again, but comes with original cartridge. Condition; Exterior has original finish on tin.
