This auction is for a vintage lamp. The lamp is made from an old crock. The crock itself is in good shape. You can see a line in the crock but it is not a crack or if it is was there before it was fired. Also some small flea bites around the base but I am being picky. It is a nice lamp. It measures 23 inches to the top of the brass finial and 16 inches to where you screw in the lightbulb. No shade. Thanks for looking.

1870s-1880s ANTIQUE AMERICAN PRIMITIVE FLUID GLASS FONT SIGNED PLUME& ATWOOD CO. WATERBURY. CONNECTICUT FINGER OIL LAMP. Circa 1870s antique folk art primitive, from the American"Plume& Atwood Co. Waterbury Conn. a fluid oil font glass finger lamp with lovely finger handle for holding lamp while walking in the dark of night(see close-up pics provided) This finger handle is very thick as is the remainder of the glass as wel, the finger handle has an organic thick'glob' of glass on the interior wall behind handle which is charming and reflective of how this antique primitive glass lamp was crudely made(see pics of this feature provided in close-ups) The lamp is an oil fluid font lamp with a filler cap and collar attached to glass font-there are small chips only to underneath the collar of the filler collar and the center ... moreneck piece of brass which was executed when company put these on and is traditionally seen in these oil lamps and is certainly expected. These chips are small and hidden, no cracks or other chips to glass lamp or other damage-is in beautiful and original period condition. An 1870s-1880s Plume& Atwood glass oil lamp which is signed on the thumb-wheel of the burner(see close-up pics included) There is some old residual dried oil/material left interior on bottom-I have left it in'as found' condition, buyer could remove/clean if desired(see pics provided) The Plume& Atwood Company was established in Waterbury. Conn. in 1871 and produced a full line of fluid lamps& lanterns, as well as burners and lamp trimmings for other manufacturers. Comes with the original brass fluid filler cap and collar firmly and originally attached, the central brass neck-piece to attach the burner to, and the metal burner which reads"EAGLE" impressed on top(see all pics as to signatures and condition) The thumb-wheel dial turns properly and the burner lid is hinged and undamaged and flips up properly-is not broken only showing expected wear and tarnish to surfaces from age and

It has a wire bale handle and an arched sheet iron vent cover at the top. It is chamfered at the base and the top. The corner posts. Instead of a door, it has a tin piece attached to the front ... moreglass piece that allows one to lift the glass in order to light the candle(see photo) When found, this lantern was extremely dirty with all glass surfaces coated with hardened soot. It appeared to have been stored in an attic or basement for many years. Found in New England USA. It retains its original candleholder and remnants of an early candle still intact.
