Entire lamp from base to top of hardware pole is 28" to the top of the base is 15" and the base is 9" in diameter. Light sockets are not original and the cord is not new but is in good condition. This lamp has some flaking of the enamels and is missing enamel in four circles that are in the second band of decoration from the top. The gilding is worn off that once covered all the metal areas but I believe that is the case with most of these pieces. Champlevé is an enamelling technique in the decorative arts. Antique Victorian Chinese Or Japanese Lamps-Lion Head Feet W/Gods-Candlestick
Hello. You are viewing my auction for a pair of Antique Victorian Style Chinese Or Japanese Table Lamps. I am unsure of the country of origin or the year that these lamps were made. Each lamp has a Lions Head Footed Base With an angry demonic looking God in the center. The top of each lamp has a Candlestick style electric bulb. It is made to give the appearance of a candlestick. The lamps are in perfect working condition. There is no on/off switch on them. The only way to turn them on and off is to plug them in or unplug them. Each lamp weighs 5 pounds and measures 18 and 3/4" tall up to the top of the bulb socket. They each are 6 and 1/2" across at the base. There is some wear to the lamps as well as four hairline splits in the metal. I am unsure of the exact metal that these lamps were made from. The one electrical cord is longer ... morethan the other. Up for auction is a very nice pair of Porcelain Candlestick Boudior lamps with floral chintz motif. They where made around the turn of the century and are stamped with an early dark red mark on the bottom. The lamps are in excellent working condition. But we do recommend you rewire. The electric wires are old and brittle. These are both hand painted on porcelain with very nice footed brass stands. The lamps are approximately 10 inches in height with shades a little taller. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ASIAN JAPANESE MORIAGE VASE LAMP NEEDS WORK
Gorgeous antique Japanese Moriage vase lamp. Vase likely dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's and at some point was attached to a metal base and electrified. The lamp including harp and base measures about 33 1/2" high. The footed vase itself is about 16" x 9" The lamp obviously needs some restoration. The metal base(looks like 1940's era) needs repainting. The lamp itself has an old brittle plug and likely needs rewiring. The vase is slightly loose from the base and needs to be tightened back up. The moriage vase itself is lovely. The colors are vivid and bright with multiple shades of purples and lavenders. The floral design is simply beautiful. There is some light crazing here and there on the vase. I cannot tell what the rim of the vase is like because I have not and will not take the lamp apart. Antique 65" WOODEN FLOOR LAMP Hand-Painted JAPANESE GEISHA Scene +PAISLEY Shade
This is really an AMAZING working vintage lamp! The main painting on this lamp. At about belly-height, is of a Geisha. Seems to be 3-color, possibly 4. She is about 9" tall, 3" wide. There is also a 2-color design opposite her, but I don't know what it is- possibly marine life or aquatic fowl. At the bottom are 2 leafy designs with what might be bird footprints or possibly a Japanese character. And then there are some markings on the top portion of the lamp. Which might be some kind of maker's mark, or a random design- they look too similar and well placed to be stray marks. The paint at the base does look more likely to be stray paint or even a couple of moderate spills of paint, so you might choose to cover over that, but it is the same paint used in the art, and not markings made by a secondary owner. Very nice real and ... morethick wood! Several spots of nice craftsmanship on the wood. Includes the very nice lamp shade which has a 3-color design which is like an Asian-style Paisley on red cloth on paper. Has a metal finial. Lamp stands about 65" tall and weighs about 8 lbs. Shade is just over 12" tall. 9" diameter at top, 15" at base. Lamp is about 2.5" in diameter at widest point; base is about 12" diameter. Overall in very good condition. The finish is still nice. The structural integrity is perfect, the lamp works and you can see the intricate designs. However, there are little dings, dents, scrapes, and wear up and down, as you might expect. You know, probably from backing up chairs or walking into it, opening drawers into it, or kids, pets, who knows? Everyday kind of stuff. Not much of it affects the artwork, but then again, the artwork is probably only on 25% of the lamp, so I guess it equates out. It is also a little dirty- I will clean it as best I can before shipping but there will probably be some detailing that would need to be done to get it to the top level it could be. Here we have an original. 1930's ~ ART DECO PERIOD MOTION LAMP ~. This lamp was made in the 1930's by SCENE IN ACTION CORP, and is called JAPANESE TWILIGHT. It has a wonderful skyscraper design frame and a wonderful lifelike scene. It measures 14 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 5 inches deep. The over all condition is quite nice for being around 90 years old. I do see that the cylinder tube is missing, which is fairly common as too large of watt bulbs were used and they got damaged. I believe you could get a replacement if desired, but it actually looks quite nice just the way it is.
