This very nice quality lamp has exceptionally graceful proportions and is made of cast white metal and cast iron with older distressed bronze painted finish. It dates from the 1920s-30s and measures 65” tall x 10” across the trifid platform base mounted with cast metal flames and boasts a font form top with deeply molded. Cast classical foliate details topped by three candle sockets. There are no obvious losses in the details and the base has especially nice weight to offer adequate support to the lamp’s tall, slender lines. I see no maker’s name. Up for sale is an antique pair of old French porcelain urns turned lamps in the Empire Style. Pieces are highly detailed with hand painted decorative scenes in blue. Rose, and gold. The decorative side handles on the urns are made of large rams' heads and horns. Lamps measure approximately 31 3/4 inches tall with a base diameter of 6 3/4 and width of 9 inches from ram to ram. Lamps are in great condition. Considering age, without major flaws. One of the lamps has a tiny factory bubble along the ram's head and some of the gilding along the top edges on both lamps is slightly fading. Lamps are not signed on the exterior. This lamp is meant to hold an art glass shade. This is a very heavy and high quality lamp. Unsigned but by the age of the original sockets. Early 20th century. From the fitter atop the Benjamin sockets, it is meant for a period art glass, slag glass shade; and by it's size and quality, it could take quite a large shade and look appropriate. This sale is for the base only. The base, as was common of the time, is a combination of brass and Iron with brass and gold gilt detailing. ITEM DESCRIPTION Item Description Up for your consideration is a pair of patinated metal(possibly bronze) and black marble lamps. C. 1920. The lamps are made from a converted pair of French compotes/tazza measuring 13.5" tall, 11.5" wide, and the height of the lamps from the base to the top of the socket is 29" so they are very tall. The tazza may be earlier than the lamp parts(i.e. a conversion) and I think they are c. 1870s(late French Empire) They have recently been rewired, and are ready for immediate use. Overall. The lamps are in excellent presentable condition. There is a missing piece of applique to the back of each lamp, the front pieces are intact and present. There are two holes where the applique was attached to the tazza. There is also some modest age wear to the surface of the marble, where
