Marked on the bottom: P A. for Plume& Atwood in Thomaston Connecticut who started in business in 1871. Heavy cast base with a bronze or brass finish. Trunk up Elephant in a walking step with one foot raised. The base resembles a rock or stone ground with tinges of Red. The Elephant holds a round beaded disk in his trunk that attaches to the flame or lotus like open top. This holds an old paper covered lamp socket with faux candle drip and a Bakelite knob. Nice Vintage Antique Art Deco Cast Iron Expert Dragon Bird Floor Lamp Rewired
This is a heavy duty. Quality antique floor lamp that seems to be almost entirely made of cast iron with a bronze finish that is nearly 100% intact with little wear. It is marked Expert Lamp Mfg. Co. underneath and numbered 502. The only visible rust is on the bottom of the base. It was re-wired, working, cleaned, and oil rubbed to protect the finish and prevent rust formation. Both sockets are new and have pull-chains. There is a large original art deco finial on the top that sits slightly lopsided(I haven't tried to straighten it) but it screws on tightly. It has a very unusual design with a large, heavy cast iron piece in the middle of the post that has a bird-like dragon head on both sides, and another large, heavy cast iron piece toward the base with birds on both sides. The base has art deco designs cast all the way around, and ... morethe post itself is cast with a spiral pattern from top to bottom. The lamp measures 65" tall with the finial. STUNNING Vintage Antique 1910s Art Nouveau Art Deco Lamp Cast Iron Slag Glass
DEEP REDUCTION IN PRICE. This is a beautiful lamp in the Art Nouveau. Early Art Deco Style. It is over 23" tall. Each of the 8 sides of the shade is 7" the total diameter is 16" I believe it is made out of cast iron, though it has some patina. Heavy. The glass shade is held together by ornately designed brass or bronze chevrons and ribbons. One of the ribbon is missing the top, but if you turn it towards the wall no one will ever notice. I would guess it to be from the first years of the 20th century from the time when the great(and expensive) Tiffany and Handel lamps were made. It is very unique, as most antiques are. ANTIQUE BRONZE SATIN GLASS GLOBE SPELTER ART NOUVEAU DECO TABLE LAMP LIGHT NICE Up for your consideration is this antique bronze and satin glass table lamp. It is made in a art nouveau/deco style(kind of) Please be sure to see the other antique items we have listed. FEATURES: This lamp is unlike anything that I have ever seen in the past. Or could find online, including eBay, Google images and a bunch of other sites. I believe the base is cast from solid bronze. It is made in a very ornate style with scrolling and leafing, and very fine details. The white satin glass globe is adorned with the most detailed hand formed( vines and leaves applied to it. They look like they have been extruded or maybe hand formed(possibly similar to how you would use a pastry gun) when the bronze was in a malleable state. I'm not sure of the actual process ... moreused to make this beautiful lamp because some of the vines feel like they are actually embedded right into the surface of the glass- and the final product is stunning. Each leaf has a very detailed design that includes a"ruffling" on each edge of the leaves. The vines and leaves have been attached to the globe by what I can only guess is a"melding" of the two materials while they were in a hot or workable stage. If anyone knows what this process is, or knows how it was made, an email would be greatly appreciated. The top section above the globe may have been cast from a different composition of materials than the base was. It is designed with a Roman or Greek style with a column look and leaves that fan out at the top. At the top of the four leaves there is a small hole where presumably a crystal hung down from there at one time. It comes with standard socket switch 2 clicks on and two clicks turns it off. I believe this lamp was re-wired with a new cord and socket sometime in the 1950's-60's. The length of the cord is a bit less than 6 feet. Up For Sale is 2 16" Table Lamps. The base Measures 5-1/2" They are Cast with gold gilt. The shades pieces are Mica. On the bottom of both lamps they are" M L 1693" These were purchased form a upscale Estate here in NY. They do have age wear& some nice patina with the green effect. On the upper part of the lamps, they are a crack identical on both. Not sure if this is from age or was were made this way. The one lamp looks to have had a new socket insert installed. Antique Cast Iron Art Deco Peacock Lamp by A.W. REISER Toledo, Ohio
This decorative lamp was part of my parents antique collection and they have had it for many years. It is heavy cast iron and has a little bulb inside the sculpted"tree" that casts light like a sunset on the orange tinted background giving off a charming sunset glow effect. A peacock is featured on the left front side of the lamp looking inward toward what I would describe as a garden area. The front of the lamp is painted a dark green with some of the sculpted relief painted red(floral area in front of tree and the flowered area to the right of peacock) Light is switched on and off(turns on/off easily) by turning a brass knob on the back of the lamp. Lamp is very heavy and has cast sturdy heavy feet on the bottom. Approx lamp measurements are 8" tall(at tallest point) x 8" wide x 3 1/8" deep(at deepest point front ... moreto back on lamp) PLEASE NOTE: The plug looks quite old and should be replaced with a safer one.please look closely at the pictures. Especially the close up of the plug and where the cord goes into the lamp to determine electrical plug condition. On the face of the plug it appears that someone cut a cardboard"cap" facing around the prongs and it looks unsafe! I will leave it to the purchaser to take responsibility for safe cord replacement. The lamp itself appears to be in good condition. And I see no dents, however, the paint is lightly rubbed off in a few areas.but overall, the lamp paint has a nice patina. There are some faint marks(zoom in on pics) on the"sunset" orange background part of the lamp that might possibly be cleaned, but I did not dare attempt. This is an antique cast iron bridge floor lamp. It is all original and as noted in the condition description it is in excellent working condition. This is a very cool lamp! The original black paint shows some slight wear. But it does not detract from the great look of this floor lamp. The electrical socket and cord work fine. The brass socket is General Electric 660/250v. Above the socket there is a swivel nut for adjustable shade position.Be sure to look at pictures closely to see the over all condition of this item. This is a beautiful. Antique, heavy, ornate solid cast metal, electric table lamp, with a dark gold finish. We believe this lamp to have been made for the more upper class people of the art deco period times. Was probably used for heavy slag glass shades. But not 100% sure. Lamp is probably made by a known maker of it's time. But can only find one possible maker mark on it. see photo 7) There appears to be a embossed stamped vertical line on only the one side of the heavy cast metal harp. The two bulb sockets have a metal pull chain and are stamped Bryant. pull chain seems works just fine) The condition of the lamp is nice. But does have some surface ware on the finish due to age and use.see photos) The cloth cord will definitely have to be replaced as well. As the end of it was cut off at some point in time.
