Old Antique Vintage American Brilliant Cut Glass Art Nouveau Art Deco Lamp
ANTIQUE LAMP AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS Found in a local estate auction is this beautiful cut glass lamp with a pointed mushroom shade. It dates to the early 20th century. It measures about 17.5" high. Perfect for a boudoir. It is in good condition, no damage aside from minor fleabite chips around the base edge. The prisms are not all original and one is missing. Some have small chipping. This lamp was so dirty that I thought the metal was brass. I thoroughly cleaned it and found under the grime the metal is silverplate. It has a pull chain socket and takes a c-7 chandelier type bulb. The wiring is not original but is still very old and does work. It has an on/off switch on the cord. All old wiring should be checked for safety before use. The socket is marked Bryant. I could not find any other markings. Use my photos for condition ... moredescription. NY Manor House ... morehere in the United States. The overall color is a very soft, chartreuse green. It is on a marvelous bronzed, filigree metal base. It measures 34" high from the base to the top of the finial x 7 1/2" wide from side to side, and weigh 5 pounds, 15.5 ounces. The shade is 17" high x 18" wide and seems like a"marriage" of eras, since the painting is very Art Nouveau, and the shade seems to be very Victorian by design. This does show some chips to the base and will need to be rewired. It is a very pretty hand painted bisque lamp. Lamp has been partially electrified and has an interior rod, washer& nut, and metal collar at top for such purposes-please read below for extended condition. The lamp is an antique New England Boston& Sandwich Company fluid oil lamp from the mid-19th century period and is one of their lovely glass overlay& cut concave prism designs(see pics) The lamp is an overlay of white glass& a concave cut prism design of emerald green glass berries& leaves which is very pretty and charming(see pics) Base of lamp is a scalloped white glass. Condition of lamp is very good with electrifying additions to lamp and imperfections cited as follows: the white glass oil ... morefont has several small flea bites/abrasions and/or inclusions which may or may not have been accomplished during the manufacture-please realize these tiny imperfections and please see an example included and presented in one of the close-up pics provided. The white glass scalloped base is attached well to the font with a metal collar(see pics) The oil font is in very good period condition with no cracks or large chips(with the exception of the surface flea bites& abrasions previously cited) and with the exception of a small chip along the top of the lamp under the metal band where the band is fit over the the top edge of lamp for the electrifying purposes. Lamp base has one tiny thin crack at neck of base-there is a pic of the base where the small thin crack is visible please see pic provided for your inspection-it is very small and would be the only imperfection that I see on base. It also has expected inclusions and manufacturing surface striations made during manufacturing. Antique American Made 1890's Empire Style Crystal Chandelier With Waterfall
1890's Antique American Made Chandelier. Empire Style Art Deco with waterfall and crystal prisms. Very beautiful and ornate. We were told by Southerby's Auctions this were made in St Louis around 1895. Approximate value on this item is $29.000.00 These are in excellent condition however they are a little dusty. These were hanging in our home when we bought it and we are now selling our home so to lower the price we are removing the chandeliers.
