For your Bidding Consideration in this Auction is a very finely carved Stone Ear of Corn or also called a Corn Cob. In researching these. Found they were used in spiritualy trying to ensure a good crop and harvest- sometimes placed actually in the fields or in a jar. It measures@ 2 5/8" tall x 1 3/16" wide at the widest part. Please view photos for your consideration. Most likely Colombian Nariño or Peruvian Chimu. I am not sure of what type stone it is but it is heavy for size weighing 66 grams. A Pre-Columbian Nayarit stone bird head pendant/ blade holder. Ancient Mexico, circa 200 B.C. 300 A.D. This pendant is pierced for suspension. And was likely around the neck on a necklace by the ancient owner. The slit in the bottom and perforated holes were for mounting a sharp obsidian cutting blade, allowing the blade to be held and used either for practical or ritual purposes. The bird head shape appears to be that of the Roadrunner, indigenous to the ancient West Mexican region, and revered by ancient inhabitants there as a skilled predator. Measures about 1 1/4" long. RARE Pre Columbian Vera Cruz dying Deity terracotta artifact art pottery COA
This is a rare and very unusual figural effigy of a Pre Columbian terracotta. Pottery dying deity figure lying on a bed with a blanket. It has also been described as a sleeping deity. In any event it is a real eye grabber. Figure much more realism based than a lot of Pre Columbian art complete with open mouth and teeth. Figure lying supine with legs up and either dying or sleeping. Head has holes through it but I don't know the meaning of this. He is not demanding and will not ask much attention. This really caught my eye and is a striking Vera Cruz artifact that will really be a conversation piece. I purchased it from Artemis Gallery and it comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Rare Antique Pre-Columbian Mexican Pottery Head Face Figure Artifact Shadow Box
For your consideration is a Beautiful Antique Pre-Columbian Pottery Figure from Mexico. It is a wonderful artifact and was professionally placed in a shadowbox in the 1950's based on the construction of the box. It measures 11" tall. 13 1/4" wide and 3 3/4" deep overall, with just the artifact being approx. 6 3/4" wide and 4" tall. Please see my photographs and consider them as part of the description. It's an art to produce such a uniform shape without a potter's wheel. Sideways there are small lugs for hanging the ceramic. The spout is cylindrical and long. But what are really fascinated me the paintings: very similar paintings can be found on the reliefs of the Huaca de la Luna. One of the wonderful temple of the Moche in northern Peru. One is a hybrid of snake with fox head(Foxes announce by cries of rain) the other shows spider creatures, the sign of the warrior caste of the temple. Indian Artifact Figure rain god Pre Columbian? Antique Pottery RARE!!

This Sculpture is possibly Pre Columbian and is very similar to those items. This figure came from an Estate. Bought as an Artifact of Indian Decent, which Indian we do not know. It measures 13 inches tall and 6 inches wide at its widest point. This item is possibly Terracotta or Tesucue with orange pigments. I believe this sculpture to be similar to Pre Columbian rain god figures. The sculpture shows signs of wear from age along with different shades of orange, tan, brown, and gold. Pre Columbian "salad" bowl 5" wide with moon face rare & nice!
Clay with an unusual face and brow. Unique carving around the eyes. Unique design. This bowl is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. It has the discoloration that makes it look like the moon underneath. We dug this one up in the South American expedition in 1970. It is one I hate to sell because it so nice.
