Pair of Terracotta Pre-Columbian "Shoe" Vessels from Argentina, REDUCED WAS $195
Up for auction are a pair of Pre-Columbian"shoe" vessels collected by an Argentinean artist who emigrated to the USA in the 1960s. Both are Ca. 0-500 A.D. Both are weathered and chipped as to be expected from pieces of this age. But their original ambiance still shows through. Size: 4-3/4" 6-3/4" This lot includes a blackware pottery example having applied facial features on the collared neck. Loop handle on reverse. Together with a red-brown pottery example having simple applied facial features and ears. Some remaining painted striped surface decoration.
