Antique Manchester Sterling Silver Indian Head Spoon Ring Sz. 7.5 - 12 (US)
An Indian figural spoon ring of this quality is difficult to find. Manchester produced these souvenir spoons during the first decade of the 20th century. This one is from Deming. New Mexico. The design continues all the way around the ring, on the inside, too. Under the high relief Indian chief's head are two minutely detailed ears of corn. On the inside is a teepee and a canoe. Free custom sizing from a size 7.5 to 12(US) I taper the narrow end of the ring that goes under the front to a thickness of less than 1mm. The handle features a Indian with a head dress, both in stunning detail and a pattern of corn running down the handle. The back of the handle has a teepee, hatchet, canoe and paddle and a baby. The bowl is hand-engraved with the"Mt. RAINIER 14444 Ft SEATTLE" and a picture of the mountain. It is in very good condition, no damage. No monograms or other engraving than that noted. It is marked"Sterling" on the back accompanied by an"S" It measures about 4 1/4" It is not tarnished and has a nice patina. It weighs.3 ounces on my digital point scale. Antique Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon w/Indian Head& Corn from St. Augustine. Florida. This sterling silver spoon is in good vintage condition, with some surface scratches& some discoloration in the bowl. It is 4 1/8" long& 15/16" at it's widest. It is marked Sterling& has the makers mark on the back. It weighs 11.8 grams. The bowl has an image of the Old City Gate of St. Augustine, Florida. The handle has an Native American Indian Chief's head on the top. He is wearing a full feather head dress. There are stalks of corn plants winding up the handle to the Indian head. The back of the handle is also decorated with the image of an bow, a fringed leather quiver with feather-topped arrows sticking out of the top of it. There is also a tomahawk. A great looking souvenir spoon for any Native American collector.
