Fort Dearborn was a United States fort built in 1803 beside the Chicago River in what is now Chicago. Illinois. It was constructed by troops under Captain John Whistler and named in honor of Henry Dearborn, then United States Secretary of War. The original fort was destroyed following the Battle of Fort Dearborn in 1812, and a new fort was constructed on the same site in 1816. The fort was de-commissioned by 1837, and parts of the fort were lost to the widening of the Chicago River in 1855 and a fire in 1857; the last vestiges being destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Vintage Antique mining mule sterling silver souvenir spoon - Chicago
Chicago- Mule carrying mining equip. 3 3/8" long(P&B sterling) printed on back of handle. Paye& Baker Manufacturing Co. I don't know what year it was made. But my grandfather’s other spoons he collected were from between the years 1893 and 1920. The pictures look bright, but the spoon has slight tarnish.

These two antique Sterling silver souvenir spoons were made by R. Wallace and Sons. One is stamped Pat.1898. One shows the Chicago Masonic Temple in great detail on the bowl. The handle is very ornate. Featuring Masonic symbols and emblems and a scimitar at the end. It is six inches long. The other spoon show the Chicago Post Office. With roses on the handle. The back leaves and flowers. It is about 6 inches long also. Their combined weight is 42 grams.
