Judith Mill Sterling Silver Spoon Antique Lewistown Montana White Satin Flour
please email if you can not see the pictures and information below Item Description ~ Antique sterling silver spoon is etched in the bowl with the Judith Mill buildings. Lewistown, Montana, started by the Jackson brothers in 1886. They sold the mill in 1889 to Cyrus S. Stiles and William C. Waldorf who modernized it. The flour was sold under the brand name of“White Satin. The spoon is marked P&B on the back for Paye and Baker. Sterling, and is engraved on the back of the handle with initials 08(for 1908. The front of the handle is embellished with a Bull that says Pride of the West, a cowboy roping a steer, twisted rope along the sides, and a very long stirrup running down the handle into a lucky horse shoe at the bowl. This is a fine old souvenir spoon. It is very old although I don't know the actual age. It has MONTANA in fancy letters written vertically down the handle of the spoon. The tip has the seal of Montana and the Montana State Capitol is on the back. It also says a STERLING and there is a maker's hallmark which I am not familiar with. There is a beautiful sunflower like flower etched into the bowl of the spoon with BITTER ROOT HAMILTON MONTANA. It is about 5 1/2 inches long.about the size of a typical teaspoon.
