Welcome to my virtual yard sale! TWO packages of Trimz Kut-Outs#2604 Pennsylvania Dutch Design. Die-cut. Punch outs that were made in the 1940s by Trimz, to be added to furniture, walls, etc… wherever a spot of color is needed" Originally they were pre-pasted and you dipped in water and applied like wallpaper. However, I doubt the paste has survived all these years, so you would need to affix with craft glue. They would be great or for all kinds of arts and crafts or to embellish your vintage or shabby chic projects. Package says they have"hundreds of uses! Each package contains one sheet with three punch outs. The page measures 7.75" x 6.25" The punch outs are on pale grey paper(not true white) The individual pieces measure about 4.75"x 2.75" max for the small pieces and 5.5" X 4" max for the larger ... morepiece. You get two packages for a total of 2 large Kut-Outs and 4 small ones. The Kut-Out has the texture and look of antique wallpaper. Colors are bright and vivid most likely silkscreened. Wow! So I think these are so pretty. Unique and different but I am not 100% sure what they were originally used for. I have asked a few antique dealers and one man told me that many years ago they hung outside of the old buildings in the French Quarters of New Orleans, and valued them between $100.00-$150.00 for the pair. He said they were used as planters for climbing plants that would attach themselves to the walls and climb. Please if anyone knows them to be something other than that please let me know. They would be wonderful used for that purpose hung in your cottage, Victorian, Shabby Chic Style or any style garden. I think they would be great used outdoors or indoors to hold big chunky candles as well. For sure they would make a great conversation item. The auction is for the pair. They are very ornate, the bowl part looks to be covered ... morein lots of little roses with scrolls throughout. The back plate is also very ornate with what appears to be leaves and other ornate designs. There is two holes to attach the back plate, I do not have the screws to attach, however any ordinary household screws you have will work. I looked these over really well, I do not see any broken pieces, cracks or missing pieces. Please understand these are vintage and therefore no vintage item will ever be perfect although these look perfectly intact to me.
